Folders created with !!! at the front can't be synched in Mac Desktop
Ok this is extremely annoying - I've created several folders with !!! at the beginnings of their name online on dropbox.
They can be read in the app on IOS devices.
They can't be red on my MAC desktop app.
What is worse - if I rename those folders they still cannot be synched / read.
I can create new folders and they are synched but any folder that has an ! at the beginning of its name cannot be synched over to the desktop app even if it is renamed.
It's taken me some time to realise this and it is really frustrating because I can see/ red etc on my other devices.
I'm running a
4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
Mac OS 13.1
Any ideas?
This was the solution - the folders with !! had not been checked to update in the Mac App for some reason. I simply checked them and they updated.
Why they became unchecked is another matter altogether but hey.
Thanks to everyone for their help.

After you rename online have you paused and restarted the sync on the Dropbox client on the computer?

Yes - as I said I'm even able to create new folders - it just doesn't show up whatever I do.
V Frustrating.

Renaming them should allow them to sync - although as I said a pause may be needed to get it noticed.
If it isnt working like that and its reproducible I'd log it as a ticket for a bug: www.dropbox.com/support.

Will do - the folder is there because if I create a new one on the mac it gives me a 'sync conflict' message,
Thanks for the pointer.
