Files not syncing repeatedly - must re-install every time.

When I copy files into my Dropbox folder in Windows File Explorer they do not sync - I'm unable to right click to copy the link. I have to re-install Dropbox to my computer every time to get files to sync. What's the problem?

Before you go through the trouble of reinstalling, have you checked to make sure the Dropbox application is running and visible in your system tray? If it's not running, have you tried to launch the Dropbox application from your Start Menu?

If it's running and visible, what version are you running and what does it show for a status when it's not syncing? Hover your cursor over the icon in the system tray to check the status. For example:

      Thanks for the response.

Dropbox is not in my system tray (it used to be). However, I did find DropBox in my Start Menu and launched it which enabled syncing.

How do I get Dropbox in my system tray where it used to be?

Would this make syncing automatic - like it used be before some sort of unknown (and probably unwarranted) Windows update removed it?

        Hi Eraserhead3, I hope you're doing well!

When you launch the app, and it starts working, and syncing content does it then work without any issues?

Have you made sure that the app automatically launches during the start-up of your device? You can see more about this here

If you could also clarify the app's version, that'd be amazing. You can find this by hovering your mouse over the little Dropbox icon on your system tray, next to your WiFi.

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!
