Error Message: There was an issue communicating with your photo library

I am trying to load pictures from my iPhone to Dropbox.  I have not had any issues with doing this for years.  I have the free basic plan.  I sell on eBay and so take hundreds of pictures per week.  The past few days it will only load a few pics and then stop and then I get an error message saying "There was an issue communicating with your photo library".  I have tried the following things.

* Restarting my phone

* Uninstalling and reinstalling the app

* Checking the internet connection

*  Making sure my battery is charged up

*  I have enough storage space

* My app is up to date

* Operating system is up to date

* Checked upload settings on my phone as per instructions on the trouble shooting page on Dropbox website

  • I managed to solve the problem. In my case, I also had Google Photos installed which was trying to also upload photos to the cloud. Looks like Dropbox doesn't like when it's not the only backup program. I disabled cloud backup on Google Photos (since I don't need it), and automatic uploads resumed in Dropbox.

    This is happening to me too.

    I've tried the same steps too and it's still not working.

      Thanks for giving that a go, jmcgraw1409! Have you also tried connecting to a different WiFi network, by any chance? I’d like to check if the issue will persist then.

      BeccaMay, can you please also provide the app version of your Dropbox app, as well as your device’s OS version?

    Hi jmcgraw1409, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

    Could you confirm the version of iOS you're running, and the Dropbox app version?

    This will help me to assist further!

        Hi jmcgraw1409, and just to clarify, do you use the camera uploads feature, to upload content?

        Can you try using your cellular data, or a different connection, just to check if everything works smoothly then?
