Can I keep a copy of the files I uploaded to another user's shared folder?

    Hi mpbox, and thanks for posting your question here!

     

    When saying "take over", do you mean that you'd like to become the owner of the shared folder? If yes, then you'd need to ask your provider to transfer its ownership over to you. 

     

    Otherwise, if the owner of the shared folder chooses to remove you as a member, they can select the option to leave you with a copy of the shared folder.

     

    Also, if you have enough space on your Dropbox account, you can create another personal folder on it and copy the contents of the shared folder in question within your new folder. 

     

    The last option would be to download your files locally on your computer.
