Some files are missing after deleting conflicted copies - I don't see them in my Deleted files page.
A while ago, I noticed my main work folder had syncing issues between my home and work PCs, and had created a duplicate "conflicted version". I checked quickly and deleted the folder that seemed to ...

Hi Nancy and thanks for your reply.
I have checked my events and something weird went on on the 18/09/2024 - there are hundreds of files being deleted and added. I cannot explain this as some of them are crucial files (for my business) and so I wouldn't be deleting and / or adding them in this way. Similarly, some of them are archived files that I keep as records; again, no reason to be adding or deleting them at this stage.
It will take me ages to check all of these files. Do I understand correctly that I have 1 month to deal with this before they are deleted for good?
Any idea what can have caused this chaos? For me, it was just another working day.
Thanks in advance,
Catherine

Sorry, I just noticed that the chaos had started on the 17/09/2024 (or perhaps even earlier). Hundreds of files being added, one by one. It's going to take ages even to scroll to the beginning of the day's events. Whereas on the 18/09/2024, files were being added (and deleted) in bulk.
I would very much like to be able to cancel all these weird movements - but of course without deleting all the work I've done since.

Hey Catherine! If you see deletions and additions for the same files on the Events page, then it’s quite possible these files been moved to a different location on your Dropbox account.
Can you use the search bar at the top of www.dropbox.com and search for a couple of these files? Are you getting any results?
If you’re on a Plus account, it’s true that you have a 30-day file recovery window.
Let me know what you find though, and we’ll take a closer look.

Hi Nancy, sorry for the slow reply. I have tried searching for a couple of missing files but they do not appear. I've tried trying to find them in the Events page but the sheer volume of movement is overwhelming. Is there anyway of just recuperating all the files that were there before 17 September, but without deleting any new files.
I'm am missing key accounting files from my business and I cannot see them by searching (perhaps I am remembering the wrong filenames) and I've tried scrolling through in the Events page but there are just too many files and movements.
Thanks in advance,
Catherine

Hey cathstoneman, let me also jump in here!
You might want to take a look at Dropbox Rewind. Dropbox Rewind is helpful if you’re trying to undo a large number of changes in a given folder or in your entire account.
If this doesn't work, or if it doesn't suit your needs; I'd be happy to send you an email, in order for us to have a closer look into this together.
