The desktop app no longer throws an error, but now my files are missing.
I'll try this again as my first attempt said it failed authentication ... I got a new laptop in March/April and downloaded Dropbox to the new laptop. I migrated the files from my old laptop. Since th...

My apologies … I migrated via usb (I believe) to the Dropbox app I had installed on the new laptop.
Yes, it was a folder, not file, and that was the destination of files from the old laptop.
The files on my laptop are not on the app in my phone. After this debacle, I could only see what was on the old laptop from the Dropbox website.
In the meantime, before looking for a really tall bridge (j/k), I tried a system restore. Of course, that had never been set up. I’m about to restore everything via carbonate, but that’s literally going to take days.

- crsutton73 months agoExplorer | Level 3I ended up restoring my files with Carbonite. That said, my syncing issues remain. I have deleted and reinstalled Dropbox several times, but it is having issues with an existing folder named Dropbox. I never deleted that folder myself, but somehow it and my files were deleted. As I mentioned, I’m back to square one.
- crsutton73 months agoExplorer | Level 3They’re not in deleted files. Nothing is in that. I’ll look at events, but I’m not holding out much hope.

Let us know how this went, and what you found when looking through your events page too crsutton7.
Also, have you tried using these steps, in order to check your app's syncing status? Let me know what it reports.

I looked at the events page (had to use the link as I couldn't locate it otherwise). There's a gap from 8/16 - 10/6, and the events only go back to 4/15/24. The only files that were added were jpeg's and png's. I'm at a loss, and as i mentioned, not tech savvy
