Paper: retain formatting when pasting text from RTF and TXT documents

Seriously, the only way I can get Paper to recognize my tabs and double returns is to paste from PROPRIETARY and EXPENSIVE software? I’ve tried BBEdit, (Apple) TextEdit (rtf and txt), Libre Office, and OpenOffice; when pasting from none of them will Paper behave like every other piece of word editing software since, oh, the 80s.

This behavior is independent of the browser (Chrome, Firefox, ...Edge).

Hi Podetize_CD, thanks for messaging the Community!

Could you clarify what you're referring to with an example?

Are you only referring to the double-returns, or other formatting as well?

This will help me to assist further!

When pasting text with paragraph breaks and often even markdown text, paper eat the formatting and paragraph breaks.  If you paste something with paragraphs from another editor, paper will only add single line breaks to paragraphs.  Users have to paste to an intermediate editor like some web textarea boxes, then copy that and then paste that into paper to get double paragraph breaks or any breaks over a single line to be respected in paper.  One of the most annoying features of paper is its inability to recognize pasted formatting.
