I want to delete files from dropbox completely
My dropbox file is an organized mess. I want to delete all of the files and upload the active files thereby restructuring.
- 3 years agoHi spikejj--, thanks for posting today!
You can delete files from your Dropbox account by deleting them from the Dropbox folder on your machine, if the Dropbox desktop application is installed.
Otherwise, you can delete them from the Dropbox site, which would then delete them from all connected devices.
If you need any further assistance, please let me know!

Hey, Jay - Thanks for the answer. I'd like to maintain the files. Where can I bank them once I've deleted them from the Dropbox app? Or is this where you say, dummy, you just deleted them.

If you delete the files from Dropbox, they'll be deleted from the Dropbox folder as well.
If you want to keep them safe, you can drag the files out of the Dropbox folder to another location entirely, so they remain on your computer. The files would also be deleted from the account once moved out of the Dropbox folder.
