Files are deleting themselves?? Why??
I keep seeing advisements pop up of files being deleted, but I am not deleting them.
- 8 years agoRecover one of the deleted files and then look at the previous version history for it. It will show you which account/device was used to delete it. That's where you need to look.

Our company sufferred the similar error. Files are deleting themselves, it seems worse day by day (even deleting folders). Virus could be ruled out as a possible cause 'coz the whole system was always protected by PRO Anti-virus software. Our deletion is also eliminated 'coz noone did it. As can be seen by some comments of superusers here, dropbox could not auto delete files.
We're asking our IT contractor to find out the reason and fix it.

So what am I supposed to do when the Events show me restoring files and folders but doesn't like when they were deleted?
No technological program is infallible and it's absolutely outrageous that you would sit there and spout this same nonsense about how Dropbox just couldn't be responsisble and we all must be massive screw-ups.
Seriously.

It shows when I'm restoring files, but not when I've deleted them. The Events page doesn't list everything, there seems to be black out moments where no activity is tracked at all.
Also, all of my administrative files are gone out of nowhere. I had full access to them at 10:14 this morning and then out of nowhere, EVERYTHING is gone. Invoices, quotes, contracts, expenses, all of my brand assets. There is no record of them being deleted in the Deleted Files OR Events page. Therefore no way to restore them.
Plus, I have the deletion settings set to prevent other team members from deleting files. I know I sure as hell didn't go around moving 12,000 files randomly this morning while working on a campaign.
