My files were deleted in July, can I recover them now in December?

I have just logged onto Dropbox (basic account) to find that I must in two actions have somehow inadvertently deleted all bar one of my folders on 16 July 2024. I found this very odd as the deletions were timed at 09.23.  That is a time I would have started working on photo files, not finishing.  Is there any way to recover these folders and photos?  Thanks.  Ken Swan

    Unfortunately not.

Unless you were, at the time of deletion, a paid user the files are not recoverable after 30 days. Paying to upgrade now wont get you any further recovery window on previously deleted files - it isn't retroactive.

My guess here is that when working on them you either moved them out of the Dropbox folder OR the program you used to edit the files moved the files into its own directory - its worth having a check on the machine to see if that happened and they are still around. MS Photos and iPhoto is known for this

That is what I feared.  And the machine is no longer around.  I am seriously puzzled by this, as one folder did remain, but I suspect it was something to do with your second suggestion.  I have some backed up elsewhere but by no means all.  Many thanks for your quick response.
