Will my files be safe, if the Dropbox server gets corrupted?

If the dropbox server hard drives where you saved my files get corrupted, do you have a backup or are my files lost?

Don't think of the Dropbox servers like a regular computer with regular drives, or that your files are stored the same way as on your computer. That's not how cloud or enterprise storage works. And with Dropbox, your files aren't stored whole. Each file uploaded to Dropbox is split into 4MB chunks, hashed, indexed and stored.

There are multiple redundancies in place to prevent such loss and in my 15+ years in using it, I've never know it to lose customer data as a result of a server or drive corruption or loss.
