Download from shared folder over limit
Hi, I have a shared folder, which needs to contain 10+G of data and I have a basic account. Thus, I can not add any data to my Dropbox (which I’m fine with). However, I need to be able to download data from the folder. Will I be able to do that even though I am over my quota? Thanks
If they shared a link to the folder, then you can access it without a Dropbox account and download and view files whenever needed.
However, there is a bandwidth limit depending on their account for shared links.

Hi Jan MT, thanks for messaging the Community.
If your account is overquota, then the files in the shared folder won't sync to the site, meaning you won't have the full 10 GB of data in that folder to download.
Are you able to see the files in the folder already?
This will help me to assist further!

Hi Jay
thanks for the reply. I joined the folder before it exceeded the quota, so I can see that. Currently, it’s just over 2G, but the expected is around 10G (however the rest must be uploaded by the client since they have a larger quota).
Thanks!

Even if they add the files to the shared folder, you won't see any changes since the new files won't sync into the shared folder on your account, as you're already overquota.
