If the developers of this app are having any trouble with the Dropbox API itself, they can reach out to Dropbox developer support directly with the relevant technical details.

I thought that was clear in my original message... I was working with a rep from the developer of the plugin about this issue for a few days this week, and that's what he told me - that it's a problem on Dropbox's end.
