I was unable to figure out how to get the latest windows app. I followed the steps in the tool to download it but it was only encouraging me to download the chrome extension, which I already have. I was able to find my original email inviting me to install the app and the link there still worked - but others may run into this.

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this. At this time, we're currently investigating an issue with the installer link redirecting improperly. 

 

In the meantime, feel free to use one of these direct installer links for Dropbox Dash below (depending on your computer's platform):


 (Mac): mac.x86_64
❖ (Windows): win.x86_64

Hi @yabo, thanks for messaging today!

 

Does this link give you the option to download the app from the site?

 

What happens when you visit the link? Does it only ask you to install the browser extension?

 

Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!

That appears to be the same link that I got to in my loom video, it runs the same web page and I end up at the same place - it asks to install the chrome extension, then after a moment it detects I already have it (presumably) and goes to no further steps.

FYI, from the Dash home browser page, I get the same link and result going this route

Are you certain that the app isn't already installed? Does the Ctrl+E shortcut not work?

It was installed, but as you can see in the loom video the desktop app was complaining that it needed an upgrade.

Could you attach a screenshot showing the error you're getting about having to update the version of the app? We're not able to open any Loom links for security purposes.

However, as mentioned, I no longer have this error because I was able to upgrade the application by finding the download link in the original email I received when joining the Beta.

Yes, as stated in the OP, I found the app in the original email and the purpose is to inform you of this bug and that others may experience this. I still have no way to find and re-download the windows application as I demonstrated via your link with screenshots above.
