Account Access
1787 TopicsI need to access my Dropbox account, but the one-time code is sent to an inaccessible email.
Yesterday, my time from 8:00, my computer was encrypted. I have two files on DropBox that I cannot function without. I remember the password to DropBox (the account was created around 2009). Unfortunately, for some time DropBox has introduced that in order to get to the account, you have to enter a code that was sent to the email. The email account was also created around 2009 and since then I have never logged in again (I am not sure about the password to the email). It seems that the email account has been disabled due to the lack of login. I wrote to the provovedar but contact with the service is difficult. How can I download two files from my account. I know their name, date. I have access to all files but they are encrypted. One folder was shared with another user but these two files that are important to me are not there. Please help me gain access to these files (these are ZIP files, a database copy of my program).18Views0likes1CommentI keep getting charged a subscription fee and I no longer have access to the email
A Dropbox account was created under my previous work email. I no longer have access to this email and the company is no longer in business. How can I cancel this subscription? Who do I contact for help? Frustrated 😣13Views0likes3CommentsI was trying to cancel my plan and I accidentally deleted my account. Can it be restored?
I am currently unable to cancel my plan and am in the payment phase. (Payment has not been made because there is no money in the account.) However, while trying various methods to cancel, I accidentally deleted my account. Is there a way to recover my account or cancel the payment?126Views0likes12CommentsDropbox says I have 3 devices linked, but I only see 1.
So I just logged into my Dropbox today and saw that there are 3 devices listed. It only shows 1 device that I am using and the other 2 are not even showing up. what should I do and does this mean that the account is compromised?9Views0likes1CommentWe need to access a deceased user's account to make a folder private.
Hi Dropbox Community, We have a Scout leader who passed away. He had shared a Dropbox folder that has pictures of old members, and we are a bit concerned from a GDPR perspective that these are available without needing an account access. We do not have access to the Dropbox, but would like to request the folder is made private. I have read the documentation here: https://help.dropbox.com/account-settings/access-account-of-someone-who-passed-away But it says I need to "create a support ticket", but I believe I can only do that if I upgrade my plan from a basic to a Dropbox Plus, Professional, Essentials: https://help.dropbox.com/account-settings/customer-support-levels So, how do I create a ticket for a potential GDPR issue, without paying for an account. Seems a bit counterintuitive? Any questions, please let me know.Solved22Views0likes3CommentsIs it possible to delete a Dropbox account that is used for phishing?
Hi, one of our users got caught by a phishing atttempt and after they created a Dropbox account using her works email they started spamming emails to people in her address book with further phishing attempts. We have remedied this, but now we have found out they are using a new drpbox account with a slightly altered email addres to contiinue their phishing attempts, can thus account be closed down? (This is for any mods on the forum). Thank you16Views0likes1CommentI can't log in to Dropbox neither with Google sign-in or my email via Firefox; I get an error.
When logging in with my Google account in Firefox, I get an error: "There was a problem completing this request." When I attempt to enter my email address, it says "Invalid email." Yet if I log in with Chrome or a Firefox Private Browsing (Incognito) session, I am able to log in both with my Google SSO as well as my email address and password. In the network tab each time I try to log in, I see a 401 error from the following API endpoint: https://www.dropbox.com/2/account/register_or_sign_in_with_1tap with the following response: { error: { .tag: "invalid_logged_out_cookie" }, error_summary: "invalid_logged_out_cookie" } Investigating this I noticed that while I'm on the login form, my `__Host-logged-out-session` cookie's value is being changed repeatedly after the page loads. This appears to be happening due to background requests being made to endpoints such as: https://www.dropbox.com/jse https://www.dropbox.com/log/blocked https://www.dropbox.com/log/ux_analytics ...which are returning a `Set-Cookie` header containing a different value for this cookie in each request. I don't see this occurring in Chrome or my Firefox Private window. I suspect this is why my cookie value is not being accepted during signin, but I'm not sure what to do about it. I've cleared my cookies for www.dropbox.com as well as in Google which prompted me to log into my Google accounts again. I also logged in on another browser and explicitly terminated all of my active browser sessions, but I am still seeing the same error. Any suggestions for how I can get Dropbox login working in my primary browser again? I've never had this issue before. Thanks!Solved38Views0likes5CommentsThere is 2FA on a work account now, so I can't access it or my files
