have installed Dropbox on two MacBooks. On the first one, I can download folders and make them available offline. However, this isn't working on this MacBook Air. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox. Dropbox has full disk access on this laptop. What is going wrong, and how can I resolve this?395Views0likes22CommentsOneDrive backup icons for Desktop and Documents folders change to Dropbox icons on Mac
Hi everyone, I'm experiencing an issue with Dropbox on my MacBook Pro. I have my Desktop and Documents folders synced to OneDrive, but after installing Dropbox, the icons for these folders in Finder's sidebar change to the Dropbox icon. I'm not syncing these folders with Dropbox, only with OneDrive. I've been in touch with Dropbox Support, but the solutions provided so far haven't worked. Here are some of the steps I've tried: Force quitting Dropbox: Using Activity Monitor to force quit all instances of Dropbox and then restarting the app. Removing and re-adding folders: Right-clicking on the affected folders in Finder's sidebar, removing them, and then dragging them back from their original locations. Restarting Finder: Relaunching Finder after quitting Dropbox. Despite these attempts, the issue persists. Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a solution? Thanks in advance for your help!10Views0likes1CommentSupport online-only files for ARM (Snapdragon) processors
We are currently unable to use Dropbox on Windows Surface Pro Devices with Snapdragon Processors as they do not allow for Online-Only files. This causes the entirety of their files to sync to the device and renders the device unusable as all disk space is consumed.57Views2likes3CommentsI installed the Dropbox app on Windows 11, but it keeps freezing.
Just installed windows 11 24h2 in my computer and finished all the updates. Proceeded to install dropbox and the installation flows fine but right after setting up the account and selecting the folders to sync the programs stalls. Tried uninstalling, restarting the computer, clearing cache, clearing the register, installing again and the same. Have tried to not change the folders to download, have tried having only online and also in the laptop and it all fails. After a while, in some cases, the app restarts itself and asks me to sign in again and then it's the same issue all over again.49Views0likes7CommentsThe Dropbox right-click options are gone from my Mac's Finder.
My files are all in the cloud. This restricts things I can do on my Mac; I can't preview or upload to the web, for example (which I want to do often). I thought one used to be able to right click in the Finder and make a particular folder available offline. But that's missing on my Mac. Right clicking in a Dropbox folder reveals nothing connected to Dropbox. Otherwise, files function and sync if opened and modified as normal. The Dropbox icon at the top right of the Mac screen is visible and seems to be functioning normally. Can right clicking in the Finder be turned on somehow? I have the option to make all Dropbox files available offline in Dropbox preferences, but I don't want all of the files—just some of them.350Views0likes25CommentsI changed my user name after installing the Dropbox app and now it won't launch
I have a new laptop (MacBook Air - M4), running the latest Sequoia. I migrated everything over from my former system, which included Dropbox. Day-1, all was running fine. Day-2, I needed to change the names of the System Users. I followed the instructions from Apple, which includes changing the home folder name in "Users" and then the corresponding account name field(s) in System Settings, Users & Groups, The home folder path on Day-1, with the original name, was /Users/keri_1/ On Day-2 -- after the renaming -- the new (& current) home folder path is /Users/keri/ Now when I launch DropBox, it is looking for this path to grant permissions: /Users/keri_1/.dropbox and immediately gives the message that "Dropbox needs to change permissions for the Folder: /Users/keri_1/.dropbox" which it cannot find since that path name no longer exists. Clicking OK, the next message I get is "Couldn't start Dropbox" and it shuts down. How do I get DropBox to correct the path it is trying to use? I have contacted Support and we have exchanged several emails, including some Terminal commands to run, which did not correct this issue.Solved33Views0likes2CommentsI can't open the app, reinstalling doesn't work.
Salve, quando cerco di avviare l'app Dropbox su Mac mi compare il messaggio "Impossibile avviare Dropbox". L'app ha sempre funzionato sino a ieri. Cosa posso fare? Ho già provato a disinstallare e reinstallare il programma invano. Chiedo aiuto, grazie.Solved59Views0likes6CommentsHow to format an external SSD to APFS?
Hi, Dropbox Community. I want to move all my Dropbox folders and files to a new external SSD attached to my MacBook Pro (High Sierra 10.13.6). I had to use the “Disk Utility” on my Mac to erase the format type “MacOS Extended (Journaled)” because of the error “Unsupported File System.” Erase was successful. But, now I’m stuck. How do I format the external SSD to APFS? What are the steps? Thank you for your kind attention. I look forward to hearing from you.26Views0likes1CommentPlease revert the new screenshot "feature" on MacOS, or at least give us the option to do so.
Hi, can you PLEASE revert that new Screenshot "feature" you added in MacOS. Previously, it was possible to simply drag and drop a Screenshot into Finder or Photos right after it was taken. Now, your stupid popup shows up and drag and drop doesn't work. This worked PERFECTLY in the past and there was NO reason to touch this functionality. Why are you taking this feature away from us???88Views1like4CommentsOnline-only not working in Surface Pro 11 (Snapdragon version)
Recently I went back to Dropbox having read that it now works with Snapdragon Windows versions, but currently I have a significant issue. I cannot have any online-only file in my SP11, thus I cannot have all Dropbox files in my device. I have this in the main DP screen: Then I go to "Manage hard disk space", select folders and make online-only. In less than a second I get the message they are online-only, but they aren't. Any idea how to solve this? Thanks in advance.520Views2likes21Comments
