iOS unable to save to Dropbox from Chrome or Safari

  • When attempting to export a pdf file from iOS 12 iPad, Chrome or Safari the original file name changes to "file" followed my the month, day, hour, minute & second.  Have attempted from iPhone and problem does not occur.  Need the original name maintained during the exporting operation.
  • Hi Walter,

    Thank you for your response.

I’m trying to save from Chrome. In Chrome there is no export option within the (...)

I am using the square with the arrow, also in the top right corner. This provides the option of Save to Dropbox.

However, as suggested, I cleared the cache. This has now allowed me to save from the bottom right. When I  tap screen option Open In...appears, and  I now have the option to Save to Dropbox from here.

So original problem still exists, but the work around is fine.

  • Thanks for the additional information RBiOS - much appreciated.

Could you do me a favor and try this on another browser and let me know if you get the same results?

If not, this would mean that the problem you're experiencing comes from Chrome itself, not Dropbox, and in that case the best way to tackle this would be to reach out to Google (or Chrome's developers) directly.

Keep me posted on your findings please and happy November!
