Open shared links directly in native app
A few years have passed since this request and as a business this would save us allot of time and irritation. As a company we share daily hundreds of links to files via Microsoft Teams with each other. Now the situation is as follow: 1 link is shared 2 team member clicks on the link 3 browser opens the link to the file 4 user clicks on 'open in dropbox' button Ideal situation would be that admins and users have a File open preference, where links to files can directly open in the native apps: 1 link is shared 2 team member clicks on it and the file is synced and opened in the native app Microsoft Teams has a great solution to this problem for Office-applications, called File open preference, see screenshot. It would be great if Dropbox could also build this feature in it's Dropbox-apps.Microsoft Teams integration loses login connection every other day
The new Microsoft Teams integration is great; we can now open shared links directly on the Desktop via the native app, which is a great time saver. Only bug for the integration is that users have to login to Dropbox via Teams every other day. It loses the login authorization and the 'open file in app' function is then not available anymore. Users need to login everyday in to Dropbox via Teams to make it work again.
I have a Dropbox Plus, but no option to enable Dropbox AI.
Hello. As the headline states, I am a plus customer and would like to activate the possibility to add ai support for third party apps. This, so I can sort all my photos. The language is set to English (US) and I've signed up for beta updates since a long time ago. When in settings, the toggle is still glowing with its abscense though? My goal is to apply some sort of program which helps me sort my thousands and thousands of pictures. This by automated facial recognition. All help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I'm getting conflicted copies when using Pages on my iPad with Dropbox files.
Hi there. Whenever I use Pages on my iPad for word processing and the file it’s using is sourced from Dropbox I’m getting multiple conflicted copies generated. It feels like 1 every 5 minutes or whenever the program auto-saves so 30 minutes of writing will generate multiple conflicted copies in my Dropbox folder. Anyone have any solutions or workarounds to this? ThanksDropbox and Boxcryptor - can't access my Thesis files anymore.
Dear Community, I have a serious problem and hope somebody can help me: I am working since month on my diploma thesis, all files for that stored under Dropbox in a directory encrypted with boxcryptor classic, which I made visible as drive "K".Since two days I cannot open any of my files anymore. Word, Excel etc. all tell me, that the documents cannot be read and maybe corrupted. If I try to use Windows explorer to copy one of these files from the boxcryptor drive "K" to any local directory, explorer tells me that he source file or the source drive could not be opened - but it is full visible in explorer and Boxcrypter opens up the encrypypted directory with my password w/o any complains. I have not changed anything in my installation. How can I get access to my files again? I am using boxcryptor classic v 1.3.2 and dropbox client v213.4.4597. I really need your help! Thanks Kathleen
Dropbox for Salesforce integration. "You need to be invited to the 'Salesforce Documents' folder."
I am trying to link Dropbox Teams account with new Salesforce setup. I can see from both softwares that I am connected but in the Dropbox window within a Salesforce case or opportunity, I get the following message: "You need to be invited to the 'Salesforce Documents' shared folder. Please contact your system administrator to get access to content already linked to this record." I am the system administrator for Dropbox. Do I need to create a folder called 'Salesforce Documents' or is that something that is auto generated when the integration begins?
X1 search engine some files inaccessible
Recently installed the new Dropbox connector of X1 which is a new feature on the program. The initial index scan was never completed as some files were blocked somehow. Customer representative at X1 concluded from log files that somehow Dropbox blocked access to some of the files. Log file link idealab dropbox was not accepted in this post. Please advise
We're getting an error when saving CAD files to our Dropbox team account.
Hello all! Working for a company that uses Dropbox business for file storage. Especially CAD files at the moment. About a month ago we encountered problems with saving 2D drawings to our Dropbox. After asking the CAD-software rep for help they sent us over to Dropbox to ask here. It specifically happens when trying to save new iterations of existing 2D drawing's in Inventor. It gives us the error in the image below. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this? Hi! Recently I've been getting problems with duplicate files when I export audio files from my software directly into a Dropbox folder . One of them is labled "conflicted copy", (I think that's the english term, I've got dropbox in swedish where it says "konfliktkopia"). The one that has the original file name only is always incomplete, the end of the audio file is cut. I've read that "conflicted copy" is something that happens when multiple users are editing the same file. However, I'm the single user on the account and I'm pretty sure I haven't been hacked by someone who consistently exports my audio files the same minute I am. Something seems to happen when I export the files (and thus add them to Dropbox). Like Dropbox thinks it's a new file, while it's still being rendered, and therefore thinks it's a conflict? I've been using dropbox for years and never had this before. Any ideas on how to solve it? I'm using a mac with Ventura 13.6.4. I also have dropbox installed on an iPhone, if that might be causing this somehow.
