A few years have passed since this request and as a business this would save us allot of time and irritation. As a company we share daily hundreds of links to files via Microsoft Teams with each other. Now the situation is as follow: 1 link is shared 2 team member clicks on the link 3 browser opens the link to the file 4 user clicks on 'open in dropbox' button Ideal situation would be that admins and users have a File open preference, where links to files can directly open in the native apps: 1 link is shared 2 team member clicks on it and the file is synced and opened in the native app Microsoft Teams has a great solution to this problem for Office-applications, called File open preference, see screenshot. It would be great if Dropbox could also build this feature in it's Dropbox-apps.8.2KViews17likes6CommentsDo collaborators automatically have access to new documents in shared content?
When I add new documents to a folder, do my collaborators who have access automatically receive access to the new documents? I notice there's a pop up box that has the option to send to them for review, but I just want to know they have an updated folder with the new documents. Thanks.11Views0likes1CommentPeople I shared my folders with cannot access due to "not enough space" - this is unacceptable.
I am the tech lead for my church and I have people who take photos of services and events. I wanted to use Dropbox as a place where they could upload their photos and the Pastor and I could get them to use for our website and other multi-media uses. I personally upgraded to a 3TB plan so that I would have plenty of space for them to be able to share their photos and videos without the need to do so in small chunks requiring me to keep going in there and removing them. I wasn't aware that Dropbox counts shared folders against their storage space allotted. IF this is indeed the case, I'm going to want a full refund of the year I purchased in advanced. I don't like shady scummy practices like that. I have worked in consulting for years and have had companies use their file share services to share files with me and I could create new accounts there and get what I needed without ever running into anything like this. So I'm first of all wondering if there is a better way of doing this? Why should my entire team pay for the same space that I already purchased? I really hope someone has a solution that can work. Thanks in advance.887Views1like8CommentsThe filenames of a folder that another user shared with me appear truncated.
When I go to a folder that some one shares with me it gives me a list where the file names are cut off. I end up having to either download the whole thing or look through files one by one to tell if it's a certain file extension or another. There is enough room on the page where the full file name should be able to display or I should be able to resize the columns to show the file name. It seems unnecessarily formatted in a way that causes me regular confusion and frustration.39Views0likes9CommentsI get an error that I've exceeded my Dropbox account's bandwidth limits.
I keep getting this error message but cant seem to find a solution, they have not emailed me, I started a free trial last night and it allowed me to send a link, then I changed my plan and purchase "plus' thinking that will resolve this, anyone got any ideas?40Views0likes1CommentPicdrop style image review integrated with Dropbox.
We use our dropbox for getting image selects on large batches of images. We find out clients dislike using dropbox for this process (unless they already use DB but most dont) and have been pushing us to use picdrop (picdrop.com) instead as they find it much more user friendly. Annoyingly this means we're then copying our folders into picdrop and then selects back to dropbox. Id love to be able to have dropbox function like this. it would save us a lot of time and errors. Would this sore of quick thumbnails style image review be helpful for anyone else: photographers/filmmakers/moodboard people?59Views0likes2Comments
