Installed Paper app on new iPad and the Folders option won’t show up on dropdown menu when I try to create a new Folder. I can see my docs, but not the usual option to access Folders or Docs or All. Any insights?226Views0likes6CommentsWhen I copy text from a doc in iPad it copies a link to the clipboard instead of the actual text
I'm still fairly new to operating within the Dropbox app on my iPad. I found when I would open a text file from DB while connected to Wi-Fi it opens just fine but when I go to copy the text I find that when I paste it into another doc I'm pasting a link to the document in dropbox rather than the actual text itself, what am I doing wrong? This is my primary question but as a follow on I'd welcome a link to a page that explains that if I'm connected to the Internet am I able to edit modify a document dynamically without having to download it to local storage.500Views0likes8CommentsHow can I view a shared file without adding it to my account on the iPad Dropbox app?
Hello, A folder recently got shared to me on my Dropbox account. Since I don’t have enough storage, I cannot save it to my account. This isfine since I just want to view the folder. But I can’t figure out how to just view the folder. In the error window, it says that I can view the file I just can’t save it. Again, thats fine. Here is an image of the dialogue I’m getting and also the comment I am referring to. Thanks!490Views0likes1CommentWrite annotations on a drawing file (gif) using the iPad and Dropbox app
Hi! I go sailing on a long trip and use Bracknell maps to analyze the weather conditions at sea. Those gif files are stored (and updated) in my dropbox. As I do not have a printer on board - and we are digitally... off course, that's why we have dropbox! - I would love to find a quick way to make with my pencil annotations on the document (adding arrows, indicating a low pressure area... etc - free hand drawing), using my ipad. Till now I have even not found a feasible app to do this. A workaround is to download from dropbox to 'Photos' and then edit. But... then the edited file is on my ipad in the 'Photos' app and not in dropbox. My basic rule is to work always in files stored on Dropbox, not to make local copies. What are your experiences?2.2KViews1like11CommentsDropbox iPad app is taking up 280GB of memory
On my iPad, I have synced 206GB of files (Dropbox -> Gear -> Space used). However, on Ipad Settings -> General -> Ipad Storage, Dropbox is taking up 280GB. In the past, I synced more files but I unsynced them to free up space. But Dropbox is refusing to release the space back to iOS. Any ideas, short of deleting dropbox and resyncing, which would take a very long time? I have already tried downloading lots of movies in the TV app to create a memory shortage, which I hoped would cause Dropbox to release space. Doesn’t work. It seems that Dropbox is good is requesting storage, but once requested never seems to release it back to iOS. Hi I am trying to upload video folders from Cricket Coach Plus HD to my dropbox account so I can clear up memory on the device. I have done this successfully on 20+ videos on my i phone, but I have this persistent message on the 9 videos I need to upload on my ipad. I pay £9.99 per month for 2TB of dropbox storage - the video I am trying to upload is 6.49GB, and the other 8 will be similar sizes. Can you please help? We are using Bluebeam Revu for iPad which connects with Dropbox. It used to work just fine, but a few years ago Dropbox stopped showing the full file structure within the Bluebeam Revu for iPad app. I've been working with Bluebeam tech support off and on about this issue for this whole time, but they still can't figure out what the cause is. This does not happen with their other users. When in the Bluebeam Revu for iPad app, when we go to the cloud connections, where it connects with Dropbox, the Dropbox listing there only shows three folders and one loose PDF file. We have MANY, MANY more than that which aren't showing. For some reason, Dropbox will not sync the full file structure. It had worked fine from before October 2020, but after that it stopped syncing and showing the full file structure with Bluebeam Revu for iPad.Solved4KViews0likes19CommentsText Editor no longer usable free in Files App
Suddenly have this major problem: I cannot work on text files in my iPad FILES app. Can't open, move, copy, whatever. I get the messages shown in the attached screenshots. I sure don't want to pay £50 a year to be able to work with downloaded text files. I had always (many years?) assumed this was a built-in facility, but looks like it's a commercial 'extension' of some sort called Text Editor + ?Solved653Views0likes3CommentsError message "couldn’t communicate with a helper application" when trying to move a folder
Hi, I'm trying to move a folder that contains folders with photos in it from my dropbox to Files App in iPad. Previously it worked wonderfully and i can move them just fine. But, now after i updated to the latest iPad iOS 16.1, i can't move folders from my dropbox to my iPad in the File App. It still works when moving the picture directly though but its a pain to create the folder manually my self. I've tried restarting my iPad, delete my dropbox and re-installing them, and reconnecting them all those stuff but still got those error when moving a folder. Any idea how to fix it? or is it a bug in the iPad iOS 16.1?8KViews1like47Comments
