37Views1like4CommentsAlmost impossible to login due to "games" captcha
Hi everyone! I have a problem I hope you can help me resolve. I use my Dropbox free acount to move files from my phone to the office computer. They are personal things, so I can't install the app or login out of a private browser session. I have two-factors autentication active. Dropbox makes me lose a lot of time in stupid games before login to prove I'm human. I'm not talking about reCAPTCHA here, but real games where you move people to the right chair and other crap like that. How can I avoid this? It's ridicolous, if I wanted to play I will have open an account to a game site, not to personal cloudspace.42Views1like6CommentsDownloading files from Dropbox via Safari

I have the same problem on both my Mac Mini and Macbook Pro. Everything worked ok yesterday and today nothing? I am also now experiencing issues trying to log in and getting a warni g that the the two satge verification could not be sent. What is going on?54Views0likes9CommentsHow to Workaround "Zip File is Too Large" Error
I'm sharing a multitude of large files with colleagues via a Dropbox link that are nearly 120GB in size. However, they're telling me Dropbox doesn't allow them to download it due to an error saying the "zip file is too large". Confused, I tried the link on an incognito browser to see for myself, and I see the error too. Why is there a download file size limitation? My colleagues don't have Dropbox accounts of their own to transfer these files to (and I doubt they'd be willing to to make paid accounts to do it), and I'm not giving my account login info to them (as a few threads on this issue suggested) to be able to download it via the Desktop app. I saw in a thread made a few years ago that Dropbox is easily capable of raising the file size download limit. They did it some months after someone complained about there being a 1 Gigabyte download size limit. Why don't they raise the download size limit much higher? (Or better yet, not have a limit at all?) I'm a paying customer, and the very reason I subscribed to Dropbox in the first place was to have a cloud service to store and share large files with people. If I wanted to deal with sharing smaller file sizes, I wouldn't even be paying for Dropbox's 2TB plan to begin with. I'd be using the Dropbox free version, or sites like Google Drive.Solved29KViews6likes9CommentsRemove "Log in or sign up" Popup when downloading from a shared link
We recently chose Dropbox as the best-looking and most functional drive-sharing tool for our video production company. However, there's an annoying popup prompting clients to log in or sign up when we share links. The "Continue with download only" button is easily missed, especially by older clients, making us look unprofessional. It's frustrating that such a customizable platform has this issue. We hope for a solution soon!4.7KViews7likes33CommentsDisable "Suggested from your activity" permanently
Hi there, I absolutely hate the feature "Suggested from your activity". I would like to see a checkbox in settings that allows a user to disable that permanently and have the cleanest possible view of file(lists) and folders. The "Suggested from your activity" feature always shows my family photos or, like today, a preview of my tax form. Whenever I open dropbox in the office to browse my files, all my work colleges can see these previews too. The icon that hides it, is only remembering the setting as long as one does not delete cookies from the browser. At our company, it is policy to delete cookies every day at the end of the day. So this "hiding" setting is pretty useless for me. More over, please make it possible to have a clean, minimalistic UI without all the fluff, super big blue buttons and "easy access" helpers. Some people don't need it. It is distracting and disturbing.25KViews79likes41CommentsNeed to know how many subfolders and files are nested inside any given folder, server-side
Good day we are evaluating migrating two companies from Sharepoint to Dropbox. We need a way to know how many subfolders and files are contained, server-side, under any given top-level folder. This is an extremely simple information, and it is of fundamental importance in order to check complete sync after a large file upload, download or move. Of course such information must be available rapidly, without browsing each single subfolders (there are dozens thousands) and without limiting to check desktop-side (which is entirely useless, given that we want to survey the status of data moves SERVER-SIDE). So, for instance, suppose we have: - top-level folder "A" - inside "A": 3 files and the 2 subfolders "B" and "C" - inside "B": 7 files and 1 subfolder "D" - inside "C": 5 files and 1 subfolder "E" - inside "D": 12 files and no subfolder - inside "E": 8 files and 1 subfolder "F" - inside "F": no files and no subfolders.... ... I need a way to know that inside "A" there are: - 35 files - 5 subfolders In Sharepoint it is ridiculously complex to achieve such a basic information, but at least I can use PowerShell and some additional module. $FilesCount = (Get-PnPFolderItem -FolderSiteRelativeUrl "Top-Level-Folder-Name" -Recursive -ItemType File).Count $SubFoldersCount = (Get-PnPFolderItem -FolderSiteRelativeUrl "Top-Level-Folder-Name" -Recursive -ItemType Folder).Count Write-Host "Number of files: $FilesCount" && "Number of subfolders: $SubFoldersCount" HOW exactly can I have such information with Dropbox? Many thanks Enrico Penco17Views0likes2CommentsNewly made embedded mp3s won't play, they are grayed out.
I have a website where I share recordings of my piano playing with family/friends. I use blogspot to link to the audio files that are in a public folder on Dropbox. I have used the same html for 12 years, but suddenly the copied links from Dropbox won't work embedded - the controls are greyed out. I've spent 2 hrs trouble shooting. The old links still work. But the new links won't. I've tried different browsers, my phone, etc. I can't figure it out. I would be so grateful if anyone could help me. my website is: [link removed as per Community Guidelines] this a link directly to the audio file: [removed as per Community Guidelines] If you try the newest entry posted today you can see the one that doesn't work. Try any other one and it will.20Views0likes1CommentCan't download files from the Dropbox site using Safari on Mac OS
Using Safari Version 18.4 (18621.1.15.111.1, 18621) on an iMac running MacOS 13.7.5 (22H527). Clicking the download button in the upper right of a file detail view does nothing. Tried clearing cache. Tried using a Private window. Tried restarting the iMac. Nada.48Views0likes8Comments
