I'm a long-term user of Dropbox and I love it's use ability and function. To my dismay, in the past year or so I seem to have lost the ability to create Microsoft Word documents in Dropbox. This is a feature I used regularly, and now it seems to be a long and clumsy process. Let me explain how it used to work and now doesn't. I would go into Dropbox on my Android phone, Select the folder I wanted to create the Microsoft Word document in and then Select the "Plus Symbol" found in the blue circle :blue_circle: found floating on lower right hand corner (that option is still there) after selecting the Plus Sign we are presented with an option to "Create or upload file" After selecting that option, I would be presented with a drop-down list of files I could create. These would include the 3 native Dropbox options of "Paper" "Text File" & 'Upload Files" as well as a list of Microsoft file types, which included MS Word & Excel and maybe PowerPoint. I would then select MS Word, and a MS Word document would be created and MS Word App would be seamlessly be activated and away I would go, creating content and saving it safely in Dropbox. Happy days! Now unfortunately when I select "Create or upload file" only the 3 native Dropbox options appear, no longer can I select a Microsoft Document type. I'm not sure why this change has occurred, and there is a work around I've found, but it's clumsy and time consuming and certainly doesn't have the elegance of what I was used to with seamless integration and function. My question is, how can I get the elegant integrated "create" MS Word option/ solution in Dropbox back, I don't want a clumsy work around.482Views0likes7CommentsUnable to open Excel files on Android Dropbox mobile app - Office login loop
Hi, I have a free dropbox account and have used it for years to store a few basic excel spreadsheets that I use daily. I have a paid Microsoft 365 account that I use on my android phone and lenovo laptop. For some reason the last few days, I am unable to open my dropbox excel spreadsheets on my phone. When I try to open the spreadsheet I get a log in page saying "Log in or sign up to Dropbox to link with Microsoft Office Integration". I log in using my dropbox user and pw and it just sends me to my onedrive. I have tried deleting the dropbox and 365 apps on my phone and re installing and logging in. I have tried to open the dropbox files by going into excel first and then trying to open the dropbox spreadsheet. Just always sends me to the log in page. It all works fine on my laptop, and after saving, my dropbox android app shows the newly updated spreadsheet. Dont know what has happened. Please help.7.1KViews2likes29CommentsTeam folders in Power Automate have stopped working after 20/04/2024 upgrade
Since the upgrade to Dropbox on the 20/04/2024 we have encountered a number of issues with apps and programs that utilise Dropbox. Rather than confusing the issue, the first of these relates to Microsoft power automate. The team Dropbox folders that are shared with me and monitored by this program have now disappeared. The only Dropbox folders I can see our my specific folders, and not those that I have access to as part of a team. In my DBL Dropbox desktop folder I have my profile folder and then I have access to all the team folders that I am part of. I can access these on my desktop and online without an issue. The problem I have is that if I am trying to access these team folders through any other software, they are not visible following the upgrade on 20 April? This is causing major issues and I assume that there is a setting that needs to be changed for me and my colleagues? Any thoughts would be appreciated.5.3KViews1like15CommentsDropbox keeps going back to the top of the folder when scrolling via VoiceOver on iOS 18.
I am a user who happens to be blind, using VoiceOver, the screen reader for my iPhone 15 Pro. I am using the latest version of dropbox updated six days ago as of October 14. When I am in a long list of files and I touch my screen, I am able to use the usual scrolling gestures. However, when I touch the screen again after scrolling several pages of a folder, focus is lost and jumps back to the first item in the folder, several screens up. This jumping of focus does not happen in other Apps on my phone, notably mail where I have 100 or so messages in my inbox. I am running iOS 18.0.1. I do hope this issue can be addressed and fixed because I use Dropbox a lot and love it! It is a major disruption of my workflow to have the focus jump around so much that I can barely locate a file that I need and when I find it, the focus may jump to a screen much farther up from the one I'm working on. Thanks.Solved584Views0likes5CommentsI'm unable to open Dropbox files on Windows Explorer due to OneDrive brown box icon.
Certain Dropbox files showing on my desktop cannot be opened from Windows Explorer. These files have a little brown overlay on the file icon. Dropbox support tells me this overlay is a One Drive icon and this may be causing a conflict with Dropbox. How can I resolve this (I don't use One Drive, although it is installed on my device).505Views0likes4CommentsI can't see the content of my Keynote images after uploading them to Dropbox.
I have been using Dropbox for years to share Keynote files to another computer. This last time my shared file did not include the background images on my slides. (However, they were visible on the thumbnails, just not on the main viewing section.). The slides were unusable as there was no contrast between the dark grey slide and the text. What I created had good contrast and was very readable. This happened with 2 different computers on 2 different days with the same file. Whey did this happen and how can I avoid it in the future. I had no way of knowing there was a problem until I got to church to run the slide for worship! I was able to quickly work around the problem. But all my work was wasted and I will not be there every time to correct the issue on the fly. Please help me solve this problem. Thank you.127Views0likes3CommentsI keep seeing conflicted copies for my audio files, after using a third-party software.
Hi! Recently I've been getting problems with duplicate files when I export audio files from my software directly into a Dropbox folder . One of them is labled "conflicted copy", (I think that's the english term, I've got dropbox in swedish where it says "konfliktkopia"). The one that has the original file name only is always incomplete, the end of the audio file is cut. I've read that "conflicted copy" is something that happens when multiple users are editing the same file. However, I'm the single user on the account and I'm pretty sure I haven't been hacked by someone who consistently exports my audio files the same minute I am. Something seems to happen when I export the files (and thus add them to Dropbox). Like Dropbox thinks it's a new file, while it's still being rendered, and therefore thinks it's a conflict? I've been using dropbox for years and never had this before. Any ideas on how to solve it? I'm using a mac with Ventura 13.6.4. I also have dropbox installed on an iPhone, if that might be causing this somehow.667Views0likes15CommentsI can't see the top level folder in Adobe after the latest Dropbox team update
Our organization (Dropbox Advanced) recently was migrated to the Dropbox "team space" file system model. I have encountered no unexpected behavior with interacting with my files in macOS Finder or Windows Explorer in the usual way. However, I occasionally will use the Adobe + Dropbox integration to access PDFs in my Dropbox folders directly inside Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Reader, both in macOS and in Windows. After we were migrated, theAdobe + Dropbox integration (under "Other file storage" in the Acrobat sidebar) only seems to be able to access my personal folder within my Dropbox ("/[FullName]"), not the top level ("/"). Furthermore, the file storage label under "Other file storage" in the Acrobat sidebar is still "Dropbox ([OrgName])" instead of the new "[OrgName] Dropbox" as it it labeled in macOS Finder and Windows Explorer. I have disconnected and reconnected the Adobe + Dropbox integration inside Acrobat in both macOS and Windows, and the behavior is the same; no access to the top level. Acrobat is up to date in all cases. Is this a situation where Adobe has not updated their macOS and Windows Acrobats to accommodate these changes? My iOS Adobe Acrobat works just fine with the team space model, with appropriate and expected access to the top level of files. TIA, Joe1.1KViews0likes5Comments
