Team Folders
27 TopicsTeam folders in Power Automate have stopped working after 20/04/2024 upgrade
Since the upgrade to Dropbox on the 20/04/2024 we have encountered a number of issues with apps and programs that utilise Dropbox. Rather than confusing the issue, the first of these relates to Microsoft power automate. The team Dropbox folders that are shared with me and monitored by this program have now disappeared. The only Dropbox folders I can see our my specific folders, and not those that I have access to as part of a team. In my DBL Dropbox desktop folder I have my profile folder and then I have access to all the team folders that I am part of. I can access these on my desktop and online without an issue. The problem I have is that if I am trying to access these team folders through any other software, they are not visible following the upgrade on 20 April? This is causing major issues and I assume that there is a setting that needs to be changed for me and my colleagues? Any thoughts would be appreciated.5.3KViews1like15CommentsHow to permanently delete an empty Team folder inside a Member folder?
I'm really not sure how I've done this but I've ended up with an empty Team folder inside a Member folder. As the Team admin I can access the Member folder but the Team folder has no members. If I open Dropbox.com, go to the empty Team folder and select the Share button everything is greyed out and I'm unable to give myself access. How do I permanently remove the empty Team folder?1.5KViews0likes14CommentsCan't move the folder outside Team Folder. Don't see the path.
I am trying to move a folder that is inside a Team Folder, to a folder outside of the team folder and it does not let me view any folders outside the Team Folders as an option. We tried from the User side using the Files tab, from the Admin Console using multiple Admin accounts and in Windows using File Explorer. It is the same issue that happened in the following ticket on your Community: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Security-and-Permissions/How-can-I-move-a-folder-out-of-a-Team-Folder/td-p/335831 Note: This is a Dropbox for Business (Enterprise License) account.897Views0likes1CommentHiding unshared Team folders from non-member Team members
I'm setting up a new Team Folder. Previously, users only saw the folders that they had access to. Now, all folders are listed. Those that they don't have permission to see are showing up with a Folder/Building/- symbol indicating that they don't have permission to see what's in those folders. I don't want unshared folders to be visible to everyone. Some of these folders are top-level company members only. I know this has been addressed in the past and at that time the only workaround was to set up all of the folders in your Personal Team Member folder. I am really hoping that there has been a change in the parameters since this post was made and resolved. https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Security-and-Permissions/Creating-locked-folders-that-are-invisible-to-rest-of-your-team/td-p/269177 This option seems like it would be an essential option everyone needs. Does one really need everyone on the team to know that there's a folder for Company Payroll or Payroll Review? or even as basic as Accounting? In my experience, people only want to see in the folders that they know the name of but yet don't have access to. I'm doing a Dropbox cutover this weekend and just discovered this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!! The worst case is that I set them all up under my personal folder now and move them out if I find out that there's a better resolution out there. Thanks, community!!!Solved5KViews2likes18CommentsNo 'Create a team folder' button in the admin console
Hi. I'm a member of a business Dropbox team, and our team admin cannot create Team folders. The Dropbox instructions say that there should be a "Create Team Folder" on the Content tab of the Admin Console, but no such button exists. There's only the ability to create regular or shared folders. Can anyone assist?609Views1like3CommentsShared folders not visible on computer after update
Hello, I have a premium Dropbox account. The architecture of our Dropbox is as follows: S |_ A |_ B |_ C etc. S is a team folder. Members of S can see all the folders in S on their computers. The rest of the staff only have access to certain folders in S that are shared with them based on their needs. Note that we are all using smart sync. Before the file system update (which happened for us on September 24th), everything was working fine. When I shared a folder with a colleague, they could see it both online and on their PC. However, since the update, the newly shared folders are only visible online and do not appear on the PC of the colleague with whom it is shared. I have noticed that there are 2 ways to get around this problem: Reinstall Dropbox or wait for an update: this solves the problem for the already shared folders, but if a new folder is shared afterwards, it does not appear. Add collaborators to the team folder S: all folders are accessible online and visible on the PC. I have already contacted Dropbox support without success. Does anyone else have the same problem? And could you help me solve it ?1.5KViews0likes9CommentsReset the permissions of all subfolders of a team folder to inherit from the parent
We have a Team Folder with hundreds of Sub folders, many with unique permissions. Some of these sub folders go down several levels and at each of those levels the permissions can be different. Is it possible to reset the permissions on all folders and sub folders to inherit from the parent right the way down the sturcture. Or can we set the perms for everything all the way down the structure to View only? Thanks.787Views1like2Comments
