I was trying to log in yesterday through mobile app but I was directed to sign up. I tried reseting my password instead. After successfully resetting my password, it turned out to be a new account with welcome message and product tour. All my information details, profile photo are gone and plans was back into 2gb storage and all my stored files was gone. Empty account! I didn't receive any email notification from Dropbox prior this incident.35Views0likes4CommentsRemove advertising popup modals from paid plans.
Hey Dropbox team! I know popup modals are all the rage on websites these days. You know where a user goes to a website, starts looking for a thing, and then BAM the most important thing that the marketing team wants them to see pops up and interrupts their flow? So today, I went to look for a file to fire off to a client and that happens to me...IN MY DROPBOX USER PORTAL (I have paid plan) midway through typing a word! How tacky is that? (hint: incredibly tacky). And to make things even wilder, when I was venting about this to Dropbox support (I know, no one over there listens or cares, but if I'm going to be distracted from a simple task, I should really go all out, right?), the support staff (who hadn't actually read my complaint) sent me to a help center article about email notifications (that's how I know they didn't read it). Before I could get a sentence into the topic, BOOM, another modal! This one asking me how satisfied I was with the help center. So I ask, is disrupting users from using the product somehow beneficial to business? Are you getting qualitative survey responses by posing the question before the user could possibly have formulated an answer? My suggestion: stop making my paid experience reel like some amateur-hour-free-tier garbage. I know you can do better.13Views1like1CommentI do not want to see suggestion notifications on the desktop app
Please please stop bugging me with suggestions everywhere all the time! Could we just have a clean interface without constantly being distracted by suggestions of different features. Just put that information in a newsletter that I can opt out from.12Views0likes1CommentI can't use Shift + delete for my folders due to new "delete for everyone" pop-up message.
I am unable to shift+delete any folder inside my dropbox folder so I can skip the recycling bin. This seems to be connected to this new popup about asking if I'm sure I want to delete for everyone. Which is very strange, because this is NOT in a folder I've shared with anyone else. Any ideas on how to fix this? Or how I can report this to Dropbox directly?Solved87Views0likes15CommentsFlag file/folder for another team member
Collaboration feature, right click and select flag, dialogue allows you to select a team member or whole team, team members receive notification with clickable link to display the target *on their file system*, regardless of the OS platform they are using. Its currently impossible to share a file/folder location to another team member, sharing links go to the website with no way of jumping to the same location locally on their computer, and alias don’t work across platforms. Users are sending screenshots of file systems at each other or abbreviated path notes that are often incorrect. Alt implementation: if the target of a sharing link already exists in a recipients Dropbox add a ‘show in file system’ link to the email, alongside the link to Dropbox.com, or don’t even bother with the email and instead just notify with the link.147Views0likes2CommentsShared link bandwidth monitor for Dropbox users to prevent breaking bandwidth limits
A tool designed to monitor real-time bandwidth usage for Dropbox users, aimed at preventing the maximum limit of 1TB from being reached. This solution sends customizable alerts when bandwidth consumption reaches critical thresholds (e.g., 75%, 90%) and provides detailed daily or weekly reports. This way, users can proactively manage their service usage, ensuring continuous access without interruptions due to exceeding the bandwidth limit.112Views0likes2CommentsEmails from the Community all day long.
Has anyone been getting Dripbox email notifications for earned badges? I have been receiving them all day long today, even though I haven't done anything here in a very long time that would cause me to earn badges. I have them turned off under settings, but I STILL get them. Does this have something to do with the "recent changes" Dropbox is making?94Views4likes2Comments
