Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could customize our Dropbox folders to make them more visually appealing and easier to organize? I think adding more options to personalize folders could make a big difference, and I’d love to hear what others think about this idea! Here are a few features I’d suggest: Folder Colors: Imagine being able to color-code your folders—so much easier to spot what you need at a glance! Custom Icons: A simple icon, like a music note for your playlists or a book for your eBooks, could make folders feel more intuitive. This icon could be applied to the already existing folder image, or replace the folder with just an icon. Upload Your Own Images: Personalize your workspace with photos or unique images as folder covers—practical and fun! These tweaks wouldn’t just look great; they’d make organizing and navigating files so much smoother. Plus, other platforms already offer similar options, and it would be awesome to see Dropbox join in! If you think these features would be helpful, let’s make some noise and get Dropbox to consider them. What are your thoughts? Do you have other ideas for folder customization? Let’s chat in the comments and show the Dropbox team how much we’d love this!6Views1like0CommentsMy app isn't syncing the latest changes.
Hello, It seems that the desktop application is not synchronizing files correctly to my computer. I have Excel files that are flagged as not up-to-date and showing an incorrect format, making them impossible to open. However, when I access the files via the web version of Dropbox, they appear fine, can be downloaded, and work without any issues. My disk is not full. I have already tried disabling synchronization on my computer and re-enabling it. After the locally synchronized files were deleted, the application re-downloaded them, but the problem persists. I have few screenshots if needed. Could you please assist me with this issue? Best regards, Martin48Views0likes2CommentsAdd Folder Sorting by Creation Date
I would like to suggest a feature that could greatly enhance the functionality and usability of Dropbox: the ability to sort folders by their creation date in addition to the existing sorting options. Why This Feature is Needed: 1 Efficient Drive Management: When cleaning out or reorganizing storage, sorting folders by their creation date provides a clear timeline of when content was added, helping users identify older, potentially obsolete folders. 2 Improved File Organization: This feature would allow users to understand the chronological context of their data, which is especially useful for archival purposes. 3 Consistency Across Systems: Many file managers (e.g., Finder on macOS and File Explorer on Windows) already offer this option. Having it in Dropbox ensures a seamless workflow between local and cloud storage. Feature Details: Add "Creation Date" as a sortable column in both the web interface and desktop applications. Ensure folders can be sorted by creation date, just like individual files. Include this option in APIs for developers who work with automated tools or scripts. Potential User Benefits: Faster identification of outdated data, leading to more efficient storage usage. Enhanced organizational tools for power users and businesses managing extensive files and folders. Thank you for considering this request. I believe this feature would add significant value to Dropbox and make it even more indispensable for users like me who rely on it for efficient file management. Please let me know if further details or examples would be helpful.16Views0likes3CommentsHow can I collapse the Dropbox folder in the navigation pane on Windows 11?
Each time I start Win11 and I open a new window in Explorer View, the Dropbox folder is completely expanded in the Navigation Pane. As I have a lot of subfolders, it takes all the vertical space, and this is very inconvenient. Is there a way to default the Dropbox folder to be collapsed (as all the others normally are), and only expanding it when needed by clicking on the > sign at the left of it?Solved324Views0likes6CommentsFamily Room - cannot customize sharing settings
Hi, I have a family plan and I'm the admin. That plan makes available to every member a shared folder "Archivio Famiglia" that stands for "Family Room" I guess. My need is to setup customized credentials to my family members, for instance, I want to give view or edit access to specific folder only. Looking at the documentation Dropbox states that it's possible to set credentials in every sub-folder.. but I don't see (from web UI) any option in menu.28Views0likes5CommentsMy web account keeps freezing whenever I'm idle for more than 20 minutes.
I don't know what exactly has been changed, but being idle in a Dropbox folder on Web while working on a project (20-30 mins) causes issues with creating a new folder, or trying to move/copy/rename etc. It just freezes, and a refresh of the page keeps the page in a "loading" state. You have to fully close the tab and load Dropbox afresh for it to work again. Very, very, very annoying and it ruins the entire workflow. Having to navigate through all folders again to get back to where I was. Also please allow this "suggestion" for where you want to move/copy something to be toggled on/off, because it hasn't provided me the correct location once and it always loads in late causing a missclick...31Views0likes4CommentsDropbox Migration to a New Mac With the New Cloud Storage Setup
On my primary computer, I keep all Dropbox files in offline mode. I've updated to the new Dropbox setup that places the Dropbox folder in ~/Library/CloudStorage. I'm wondering what will happen when I move to a new Mac in the future. In the past, the macOS transfer program would transfer all my files to the new computer's drive, and then Dropbox would reindex them (rather than having to redownload all the files from Dropbox). What will happen now with the new Dropbox setup? Thanks.Solved6.4KViews1like26CommentsI see duplicate Dropbox folders on Windows, after reinstalling the desktop app, and they both sync
Hi there I had a problem where I noticed one day about a month or so ago that my backup of my current computer had disappeared so couldnt access any files from my computer on my phone. The only way I could see to fix it was to reinstall dropbox on my computer which it fix the backup problem. However I now have a problem on my computer where my windows explorer shows two indentical dropbox folders. How do I remove of them without losing any files? Anything I do to one of the folders affects the other, they both have the same files and both sync. Thanks in advance.Solved6.7KViews1like29Comments
