Dropbox Replay
120 TopicsReplay - Comments follow versions
As I go through versions - it would be good to have the comments follow - so when looking at a new version I can see if the requested changes were in fact completed and completed to my liking. Right now if I add a new version all the comments remain attached to the older version - and so while viewing the new version I can not follow along and resolve.2.5KViews14likes10CommentsTranscription error - is it possible to regenerate a transcript?
Hi team, Replay transcription appears to have failed on a video we've uploaded - it's missed a chunk (20-30 seconds that I've spotted so far). No reason on our side for the failure that I can think of - indeed, it's the third version of this file that we've uploaded, and previous versions have correctly parsed the section; there's nothing funky it, no backing track or difficult-to-hear audio etc. So, my question is: is it possible to force a regeneration of a transcription? Thanks, -- David15Views0likes0CommentsBring back - EDL download for Dropbox Replay
Can we please bring back being able to export comments in EDL format. Davinci and Replay don't speak well and often direct uploads on exports fail. With EDL gone we now have no reliable way to import comments again other than manually. Thanks, Jordy14Views0likes1CommentEdit transcript doesn't work as expected in team
Hi there, Dropbox Replay user here - as of yesterday, fully-paid up for the full Dropbox Replay across our team. As per the Dropbox Replay 'video transcription and captions' article last updated 18 July 2024, we should be able to edit transcripts in Replay. And indeed, I can - when I am the one who who has uploaded the video to Replay - I click on the Transcription sidebar/tab, wait a few minutes, and then can hover over a line, select the pencil, and correct the text. Just as described. However, when another team member uploads the video, I no longer see the pencil option to edit the text, only the copy option. I'm now getting the sinking feeling, based upon a limitation I saw elsewhere in this community around archiving videos, that it is somehow either as per design or a product limitation that I can't correct the transcript of a video uploaded by somebody else in our team. The purpose of Replay is to facilitate collaboration - please tell me this isn't a limitation. Thanks, DavidSolved2KViews1like9CommentsShare a a file directly from Dropbox using Replay features
If you have the Replay add on, I think you should have the ability to send "share via Replay" links from a file in dropbox. When using this option the file would be available in Replay automatically and sync with that file in dropbox for comments/changes. Versions could be uploaded into the same folder with a naming scheme. Bottom line, everything should be do-able within the dropbox app - everything from setting up folders, workspaces, versions, etc... leaving replay for the viewer experience, comments, and other forms of communication about the file. All file upload/download/versions/links should be integrated into Dropbox, so that file management can be done from the Dropbox side1.2KViews1like4CommentsDropbox Replay compare mode - add the ability to see comments on previous versions
Hello, When reviewing new versions on Compare Mode, there's no way (or I can't find a way) to see the comments from a previous versions to understand if the issues were addressed or not. As a workaround, I have to open two different windows set them side by side, one with current version and another with the previous version, I call it Manual Compare Mode. I don't think this makes any sense. Making the switch from Frame.IO this is something that is extremely useful that I really miss. Also, Compare Mode should be available on shared links as my clients also miss this feature, as it is extremely useful as already stated in many posts. Can Dropbox please add the ability to see previous versions comments in Compare Mode? Cheers!798Views5likes6CommentsTeam-only Comments Don't Work
The documentation for Dropbox Replay mentions team-only comments, and the procedure to use them: https://learn.dropbox.com/self-guided-learning/dropbox-replay-course/dropbox-replay-guide However, this function does not show up for me in Dropbox Replay. There is no "Post Publicly" button, and no drop-down. All that shows up for me is "Post". How do I make this work?502Views0likes3CommentsReplay feature request: download video with burnt-in captions
Hi Replay team, The blurb for Dropbox Replay video transcriptions feature currently reads: "You can add transcripts to video and audio files in Dropbox Replay, and create closed captions for videos. Once generated, you can edit the transcript, select a section to skip to that timestamp, and copy or share the transcripts." I believe it would also be helpful if we could add, "and download a version of a video with closed captions burnt in", or words to that effect. Essentially, the option to download the video with captions - ie what is displayed on the screen in Replay when captions are enabled. As a stretch goal, it would be helpful to have some simple formatting of the caption format (font, position, size) etc. Yes, our editors/NLEs are able to do this too, but there are good workflow/cycle reasons why it makes sense to do this in Replay: internal/external reviewers are able to review/amend transcripts here (cuts down unnecessarily feedback loops to editors who aren't necessary subject matter experts on the material); we're already generating .SRT caption files in Replay so it's ideal if they are consistent with the captions burnt into the video. Yes, best practice in many cases is to deliver clean video and an .SRT file so that the viewer/player can choose - but there are still plenty of cases where clients request versions of the video with burnt-in captions. I know that will be useful for us - anybody else here too? Thanks, David339Views1like3CommentsTrial period for the Dropbox Replay add-on
I reckon that the full replay add-on could be useful, however before I pay for a full annual fee I would have to test it. Does it actually fit our workflow, can we get our clients to use it, how good is the transcription feature etc. You guys are not selling this thing very well tbh. Looking forward to see more!527Views0likes2Comments
