289 TopicsUrgent Issue: Dropbox Passwords not showing up after logging out and back in.
Hello Dropbox Community, I’m posting here out of sheer frustration regarding a critical issue I’ve just experienced with Dropbox Passwords. I noticed that my passwords were not syncing properly across my devices, so I thought it would be a straightforward, reasonable step to log out of the extension and then log back in. In fact, I went so far as to log out of every device linked to my Dropbox account, hoping it might trigger a re-sync. To my shock, this simple action completely wiped out all of my passwords across every device! I want to emphasize that at no point did I choose “reset” or any other option that would knowingly delete my data. All I did was sign out. This is incredibly frustrating—especially considering that Dropbox Passwords is supposed to be a critical security service. I rely on it for both personal and professional logins, and now I’m left scrambling without any of my credentials. Worse yet, the response from Dropbox Support has been non-existent so far. I reached out a day ago and have yet to receive any form of update, troubleshooting steps, or even an acknowledgment that my case is being addressed. I’m hoping someone in the community or from the Dropbox team can help me resolve this as soon as possible. If anyone else has experienced this issue or has any insight, please share. I need to regain access to my passwords ASAP, and I’m shocked that simply logging out could lead to a complete data wipe. Any guidance or immediate assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.21Views0likes1CommentLock/hide a folder with a password or a security key
Hello, I think it would be a good idea to be able to lock/hide Dropbox folders without necessarily putting them in the vault. There are sensitive documents that we would like not to be accessible to everyone, without necessarily putting them in another place, and moreover, I may need to give access to my account to colleagues, so I think it would be nice to be able to lock/hide them with several security methods: - Security key (Face ID/Touch ID/Physical security key) - Specific password (or PIN) + You could choose to use the security method registered in the Dropbox account, or use another one. I recently had to reinstall windows and thus firefox and Chrome too. The dropbox passwords extension for Chrome works just fine. Firefox does not. I also loaded Waterfox, just to try it...no luck.Solved41Views0likes5CommentsThe Dropbox Passwords extension updates passwords when there is no need
I have a particular login account that has multiple security levels. i.e. It has a UserId and Password for logging in and an additional Password for specical functionality. When I log in, Dropbox passwords populates my UserId and Password correctly. If I invoke the special functionality, and enter the additional password when prompted, Dropbox Passwords updates the login password to the additional password and I need to cancel the update if I'm quick enough and see the dialog box. This is annoying, is there a way to stop the automatic update. I have also noticed that Dropbox Passwords will create a duplicate entry for some of my accounts for some unknown reason and I finish up having multiple Account records for the same site? Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks in advance.80Views0likes13CommentsDropbox account seems to have been hacked, how can I proceed?
An unauthorized person hijacked our basic Dropbox account and sent an email invite to an undisclosed number of recipients. The content of the email invite may have malicious content/link to a .pdf file. We noticed the unusual behavior as the owner of the Dropbox account was overseas (unaware) and the recipients tried to contact the Dropbox owner to see if it was legit or not. We reset the password and set the 2-factor authentication. However, today a ‘Reminder’ email notification was sent out by the same account to an unknown number of recipients. Questions: How do you determine (who) the email addresses the initial invitation email was sent to and the number of recipients? We want to send an email blast to warn them not to click on the link in the invite. How do you disable the reminder email notification of the original invitation? Any other advice? Shall we delete this account? Thank you in advance for any advise or recommendations. LPJ33Views0likes1CommentDropbox Passwords auto fills the user ID instead of my password.

I've been trying to delete my account. I've never used this account since I first opened it a month or two ago. Today, I followed the instructions, entered my password (it doesn't provide a place to enter my ID) but a message says that my User ID & password do not match. So I go into my account and change my user id AND my password. I'm thinking it's gonna work now, finally! But I try it again and it still tells me my USER ID/Password doesn't match. Why does it tell me that when it doesn't even give me an option to enter a User ID? I was using the same password I used when it set it up only a few months ago. Since I'm already logged in, I go into my account and change BOTH my User ID and my Password. That should fix it, right? NOPE. It still tells me the User ID and Password do not match. I've been trying to get this account deleted for days. When I communicated with Dropbox by email to ask them to delete it, they told me I have to delete it myself. WTH?? I've tried everything now. Why can't I get this stupid account off of my Desktop PC?771Views0likes10Comments
