Dropbox Family

Good morning everyone. I have a slight problem, my companies family plan expired and then a new family plan was subscribed to but now all the work on the old family plan is not on the new family plan. Is the best thing to do to just copy and paste all files to the new family plan or is there another way to transfer all files to the new family plan?25Views0likes3CommentsSome files are stuck on"waiting to upload" and never sync on macOS unless I double click them.
When adding files to my Dropbox folder on my Mac, I occasionally see some files which appear in the Finder with a dotted line cloud icon in the state "waiting to upload". These files will never sync to Dropbox or my other computers until I manually double click on the file to open it, and THEN the sync starts and shows up on my other computers running the Dropbox app. In case it matters, these files are being created automatically in the Dropbox folder by my scanner software (ScanSnap). This does not happen with all files created by ScanSnap, it seems to happen occasionally to random files (90% of files seem to sync correctly). I'm seeing this on macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 with Dropbox v212.4.576745Views0likes6CommentsCan I locally share my Dropbox folder on my Windows machine?
My wife and I have files we want to share that are in Dropbox and are synced to our computer in my local Dropbox folder. She has her own local account on the same machine and I want to know if I can locally share a folder from my synced Dropbox folder with her. Is it possible, and if so, are changes she makes going to be synced to Dropbox.com? I have looked at using Dropbox Family and the Family Room folder to do this, but if we both sync that folder it doubles the storage space used. Any thoughts or suggestions?28Views0likes2CommentsIs it better to have 2 Plus accounts or a Family one?
I have an individual plus account. My wife needs a Dropbox plus account. No other family members. It seems more cost efficient to have two individual plus accounts rather than a family account. The price is close and we would have more space. Am i missing something here? Also, costumer service is not so great. I wish there was a phone support option. Any feedback is appreciated!!!40Views0likes4Comments--> Did you know... you can search for images using just text?
Hello Dropbox Community! My name is Lainie and I'm a Product Manager at Dropbox. Every now and again, I am going to post a "--> Did you know..." to 1) keep you informed of all of the cool technology that exists at Dropbox and 2) gather your feedback on how the features are performing. In today's, "--> Did you know..." I'll be talking about Image Search! Image search is allows you to use the Search Bar to search for the contents of the image using words to describe the image. For example, if you search for "cat" your search results will show files that 1) contain the word "cat" in the file name or body, AND 2) files that contain images of cat. No mention of the word "cat" is necessary! Pretty cool! If you haven't yet, I recommend that you check it out. Please respond to this thread and let me know... A) Did you know this feature existed? Do you use it? B) How can we make this even more useful for you? Have a great day! I have a PC (Windows 11) with accounts for multiple users, i.e. a family PC. I am using dropbox, and it works well. However, other users are not using dropbox. These other users experience an annoying dropbox feature after every Windows login: A dropbox panel pops up and invites them to create a dropbox account. I think these users should be able to say "No thanks, and never ask again". But I haven't found a way to stop the panel from popping up again and again. Not having a dropbox account, these users have no access to dropbox settings and preferences. Is there a way to stop this invitation panel? Not a serious problem, but an annoying feature ..Solved4.8KViews3likes10CommentsFamily Room - cannot customize sharing settings
Hi, I have a family plan and I'm the admin. That plan makes available to every member a shared folder "Archivio Famiglia" that stands for "Family Room" I guess. My need is to setup customized credentials to my family members, for instance, I want to give view or edit access to specific folder only. Looking at the documentation Dropbox states that it's possible to set credentials in every sub-folder.. but I don't see (from web UI) any option in menu.49Views0likes5CommentsCan I password protect folders while on a Family plan?
I have created a link for viewing and other than "who has access" all other toggles are greyed out. I have the Family plan https://www.dropbox.com/family and unfortunately, I cannot find anything that specifically tells me whether this option is allowed or not. I thought there was an option for securing files. When I go here: https://help.dropbox.com/share/set-link-permissions I can see plans like "Standard" have this option, but then when I go to compare planshttps://www.dropbox.com/plans neither the "standard" nor "family plan" is listed for me to even see what options are included in these plans. Can someone please tell me how I find out exactly what is included in what plan?Solved104Views0likes2CommentsTransfering ownership of a family plan?
Hi We have a family plan and the family manager is no longer able to continue in that role for serious health reasons. What we need to do is transfer ownership so that one of the other members within the family plan can take over the role of manager and become responsible for future payments when they are due. Is there a way to do this? Any assistance would be gratefully received.1.5KViews1like8Comments
