Dropbox Capture
146 TopicsDropbox Capture was suddenly retired
Dear Dropbox Support Team, I am writing on behalf of my organization to express deep frustration and disappointment regarding Dropboxâs sudden decision to retire Dropbox Captureâa tool that was not just useful but essential to our daily workflow. As a CCO of an agency working across multiple time zones, Capture played a vital role in streamlining collaboration, enhancing communication, and bridging geographical barriers effortlessly. The abrupt discontinuation of a well-recognized, internationally valued toolâwithout any viable alternativeâhas significantly disrupted our operations. No transition plan, no replacement, and no warning left businesses like ours scrambling for an alternative to a platform that had become deeply integrated into our workflow. Do you know really what value you provide for dropbox capture user or not ? let me mention it again : Seamless Asynchronous Collaboration: Allowed our teams to share ideas instantly through video and screen recordings, eliminating the constraints of different time zones. Efficient Feedback Loop: Enabled real-time visual communication, drastically reducing the back-and-forth of emails and messages. Enhanced Productivity: Simplified onboarding, creative briefings, and internal reviews with a straightforward and intuitive tool. Integration with Dropbox Ecosystem: Provided a unified workspace that made storage, feedback, and execution seamless. By retiring Capture without a structured replacement, Dropbox has left traffic managers , creative directors without a critical collaboration tool, forcing them to look elsewhereâbut eventhogh it will not be integrated with Dropbox We strongly urge Dropbox to either bring back Capture as a paid subscription option or launch a stronger alternative that delivers (if not exceeds) the same functionality. Simply shutting it down without a proper replacement does not align with the user-centric approach we expect from a company like Dropbox. We hope to hear a clear resolution from you soon. The loss of Capture is not just an inconvenienceâit is a major setback for businesses that relied on it daily. Yousuf, Eslam F.47Views0likes1CommentDropbox capture: we need to keep it active

Thank you for being a valued Dropbox Capture user. After careful consideration, weâve decided to discontinue Dropbox Capture on March 24th. Please note that youâll still be able to use the screenshot tool through the Dropbox desktop app. After March 24th, you will no longer be able to create new screen recordings, audio clips, GIFs, or videos using Capture. The Capture desktop appâand Capture via web accessâwill no longer be available. Good news: Weâre continuing to add new screenshot functionality within the Desktop app. On March 24th, you will be able to use the screenshot tool to capture the exact part of the screen you want to send. You will be able to add extra emphasis to your screenshots with text, shapes, drawings, and arrows. We understand that your content is important, so know that you will not be losing any of your existing Capture images and videos. Hey, I've been using Dropbox Capture to feedback on a project. I love the idea of quickly sharing a video like that. There is one problem though - I cannot reliably record a screen capture with voice - the video will randomly skip and buffer, corrupting the recorded video - in effect I'm loosing time, because I have to re-record. It's very frustrating. I'm on Windows and the most recent version of Capture v116.3.0 Tried reinstalling, clearing cache, tried disabling audio enhancements in Windows audio settings as well. I would love to use this feature daily, but at this point it's pointless - is there any fix to the issue?47Views0likes7CommentsHow do I disable Dropbox Capture and still save my screenshots to my account?
The title says it all. Dropbox capture is the worst "upgrade" I have ever encountered. It adds extra steps to my workflow and is utterly useless to me. I simply want my screen shots to save to my drop box screenshot directory How do I do this? I cannot find the actual directory to which the screen shots are saved to. I can change the screen shot destination easily from the command lineSolved119Views0likes2Comments
