Dropbox Backup
1092 TopicsCan I delete the backup of PC that I can't access using my mobile browser?
I am running out of storage. But I do not have files on dropbox. But when I go to the backups page I saw a device which I think have linked to PC that I don't have access anymore. I cannot delete it. I tried to delete a file of that device then there pop up "delete [folder] from your [device] backup". I don't click backup settings because I don't have access to that PC. So instead I click "I don't have access" and it go me to settings/security and unlink the PC. But after unlinking I still can't delete the device or any of it's file from backup page of my browser. Can anyone help me to solve this issue.Solved33Views0likes3CommentsSyncing Cloud Folders with External Drive
I am backing up folders to an external drive by manually clicking the folders and choosing "Download" and pointing to where I want them on the external drive. Is this the right way to create a backup? I want to be able to sync the files between the cloud and the external drive, is that possible? When I plug in the external drive, I do not get the "back up this drive" option. Thanks!41Views0likes6CommentsView dropbox backups on app
As described in this thread, the new version of dropbox backup is great but has a major downside: files stored via backups can no longer be accessed within the dropbox app! Quoting @mbriney from the above-linked thread because I can't say it any better: I understand the principle of having the major "backups" be in a different segment of dropbox.. but it shouldn't be that hard to access all the files. Maybe inside the regular current Dropbox app, feature a button that allows up to actually open the files that are in this "backups" section? OR maybe create another "Dropbox Backups" app that will allow us to remotely view these backup files without having to go thru the browser?12KViews30likes26CommentsError message "Move desktop folder back to its default location, then try again"
I can't sync my laptop in Windows 11 because it says my documents and desktop folder are not in their original location. It won't let me start all over again or reset to original settings. When I try to sync my "video" folder though it works just fine. Dropbox seems to just not like my desktop and documents fodlers. Hello, is any one else having issue with dropbox listing all files to be "ONLINE ONLY" but computer storage is not being cleared. Huge issue on our end as the computer's capacity is 2TB and the files online (dropbox) are 2.12TB. The huge problem is, since the files are not online, my computer is maxed out and it started to be in operational. All the folders have the "grey cloud" and list 0kb which means they are not taking any space but my storage drive says it only has a few GBs available. Please help here as we are a studio trying to wrap up some packaging items. Thanks, Fernando [email removed as per Community Guidelines]1.5KViews0likes6CommentsAre backups taking up space? How can I make up some space?
I just upgraded my Dropbox subscription to increase space for my many photos. But I note now that I just have 553 giga of space. Is Backup taking up space and can I release that space to gain more for the many photos I want to put in Dropbox? Thanks24Views0likes1CommentI have an encrypted exFAT external drive, but I don't see the prompt to back it up to Dropbox.
I just bought a SanDisk 2TB drive and encrypted it with their software. There is currently only about 30GB of data on it. When I plug it in, I do not get the "Do you want to back up this drive" message, tried multiple times. The drive format is exFAT and it is attached to my PC. Any suggestions on how to get it backed up to Dropbox?74Views0likes7Comments
