I just signed up for free trial on drop box but I dont see any change to my account. It is still Dropbox Basic and no support option. I also received an email that my account got the free trial. Welcome to your 6 month trial of the Dropbox Backup plan! Here’s your receipt: You’ll be charged $76.62 plus applicable tax, (minus any applicable credits or promos) yearly until you cancel (https://www.dropbox.com/help/158) your subscription. Previous charges won’t be refunded I try ton cancel it through my iphone but I dont see dropbox in the settings. I try the web but no option to cancel and my account is still dropbox basic. What should I do now?12Views0likes1CommentHow do I disable Dropbox Capture and still save my screenshots to my account?
The title says it all. Dropbox capture is the worst "upgrade" I have ever encountered. It adds extra steps to my workflow and is utterly useless to me. I simply want my screen shots to save to my drop box screenshot directory How do I do this? I cannot find the actual directory to which the screen shots are saved to. I can change the screen shot destination easily from the command lineSolved38Views0likes2CommentsView dropbox backups on app
As described in this thread, the new version of dropbox backup is great but has a major downside: files stored via backups can no longer be accessed within the dropbox app! Quoting @mbriney from the above-linked thread because I can't say it any better: I understand the principle of having the major "backups" be in a different segment of dropbox.. but it shouldn't be that hard to access all the files. Maybe inside the regular current Dropbox app, feature a button that allows up to actually open the files that are in this "backups" section? OR maybe create another "Dropbox Backups" app that will allow us to remotely view these backup files without having to go thru the browser?12KViews28likes25CommentsScheduling a daily back up frequency of my internal and external drives.
I'm new to Dropbox and I'm experimenting with the free trial. I want to be able to use Dropbox for daily back ups of my internal and external drives. How do you select a back up frequency? I'm on an iMac, if that makes a difference. Thanks31Views0likes3CommentsCan I use computer backup and move my Dropbox folder to another SSD drive?
I bought an SSD so I could move my 2TB Dropbox into that second drive. But now Dropbox complains that it can't backup my folders from the main drive. Why? How can I have my Dropbox reside in dedicated second drive but still have my essential folders backed up from the main drive?33Views0likes3CommentsMac: Dropbox Backup - "Error - can't backup this device"
I have an external drive connected to my Mac (iMac 2020. Big Sur 11.7.9. Dropbox 183.4.7058). The drive shows up on the desktop and there're no issues with it. Approx 2 weeks ago it stopped syncing via Dropbox. When I go to Backups - status shows "error....can't backup device. Unplug and try again" I've tried ejecting and reconnecting drive & reinstalling Dropbox. Nothing works in terms of getting Backups to recognise that it's connected. When I click on "manage backups" the drive doesn't show up there. I have now started making a duplicate backup of the drive - this new backup does show up in "manage backups" . When I click on the desktop Dropbox icon it shows up there under "sync and backups". However - in Backups, it also show "error - can't backup this drive" under status. Is it possible to reconnect this original backup so I don't have to sync 2.5TB again? See screenshots - original backup is "Lacie 16TB", duplicate backup is "Lacie 16TB (1)"668Views0likes9CommentsHow to undo an accidental backup to Dropbox?
A couple of months ago I must have accidently hit a key where it seems my complete computer is backed up to dropbox. I'm on a Mac and my "Documents" folder now has a Dropbox icon and it seems each file is no longer located on my mac but on Dropbox. So I depend on internet speed for access to the files. I have solved part of the problem by making all my folder "available offline" which, I assume, restores my Mac the way it was before. But I would like to permanently disable this automatic backup and have my documents folder looking the same way it was before all this happened.771Views0likes5CommentsA bunch of my files went to Zero Bytes on Mac
This issue was posted here like five years ago by a different user and the fix worked for them but I've encountered the issue now and the fix isn't working. Basically, I've got a new Mac, synced all my files from my old Mac but they're mostly showing up as Zero Bytes and they're not openable. I tried going to my preferences->Account->holding down the alt/option key and clicking "Fix Permissions". It prompts me for my computer password, I enter it, it seems to work but doesn't. So I do it again, then I receive the error message in Dropbox: "Dropbox was unable to fix permissions in your Dropbox. Please contact support if the problem persists." I'm on the basic plan, so I don't have access to proper support (bad show, guys) so I'm hoping someone can help.52Views0likes6Comments
