Hi there I‘m moving away from Office 365 to Apple apps. When on my iPad, when I click on a Word file, I get the „open in“ button to open in Microsoft Word. When I click on a .pages file, I only get an „open“ button which, when clicked, opens the file in Dropbox with no editing options. What am I doing wrong? I have upgraded to iOS 18 on my iPad and updated the Dropbox app. I turned Camera Uploads on, with Upload from set to Camera Roll and Back up set to All Photos. Nothing is uploaded, even though my Camera Roll has over 16,000 photos. Uploading manually is not an option, as there is no Select All function. In addition, manual upload only allows 400 photos at a time. The new iOS 18 Photos app no longer has a folder named 'Camera Roll', so I'm wondering if that is the problem? I logged out of the Dropbox app and back in, which then took me through Set Up your Dropbox. The Upload Photos option seemed like it would work if I chose Imports, but again there is no Select All option. So I went back to the Camera Uploads settings and turned Camera Roll off, and Recently Saved (under Smart Folders) on. Same thing, nothing uploads. I'm stumped!64Views0likes5CommentsiPhone 14 Outlook app doesn't show files for Dropbox
When trying to attach a Dropbox file using the Outlook mobile app, a screen says "No files found." I used to be able to create an email and then attach the Dropbox file using the Outlook app, but now this is not working. It's possible from the Dropbox app side, but not from Outlook. Any idea why this is happening? I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Dropbox and removing/adding my Dropbox profile for Outlook, but this persists.25Views0likes2CommentsDropbox icon with checkbox white interior remains a mystery.
Megan from the DropBox staff offered some help to an earlier post entitled "Dropbox icon and folder status on a Mac” but despite my replies, the discussion went dead seven days ago. I still have outstanding questions and would like to revive the discussion. I have selected the preference that all files and folders be available off-line on my primary MacBook, however, I have a mix of checkboxes, that is to say both kinds… green interior and a white check mark and white interior with a green checkmark. Below is the explanation link that Megan supplied, but there's no mention of the check mark with white interior, which was puzzling because I had seen but lost another page earlier that included that in the explanations. In looking at this article about syncing icons and reference was made to the DropBox desktop app, which aside from the icon that lives next to the Time Machine icon in the upper right menu bar in the Finder, I'm not really sure what the dropbox desktop app is? Yes it appears in the application folder, but if I double click on it, it simply takes me to the designated dropbox folder within my User folder. Which, by the way, except for emergencies, that is the only way I work with DropBox. The primary thing I want to do is faithfully mirror the activity of the Finder “DropBox” folder on the primary MacBook and have the files and folders populate to other devices. Finally, all my posts from the last month or so started re. puzzling changes to modification dates following a migration from an old MacBook to a new one. In nearly 40 years of using a Macintosh this has been one of the most challenging technical snafus I've ever encountered. Thanks, Paul syncing icons based on this article?24Views0likes1CommentDefault PDF viewer on iPad
Is there a way to change the default PDF viewer in the Dropbox App for the iPad? When I click on "Open in" in a PDF, it only shows the option of Adobe, but I use PDF Expert. (In contrast, on my Mac, when I double click on a PDF in my Dropbox folder, it automatically opens in PDF Expert). If I can't change the default PDF viewer to PDF Expert on the iPad, what is the easiest way to open a PDF from Dropbox in PDF Expert? (Of course I already know that I can start IN PDF Expert and open Dropbox files there from Dropbox, which I have linked to it; but this is for when I happen to have begun from the Dropbox iPad app instead.)30Views0likes1CommentNative macOS Dropbox App vs. Maestral
I stopped using the native Dropbox app a couple years ago because it was so resource intensive. I've been using Maestral since to view and sync my Dropbox content due to lighter footprint. I have a M3 MBP with 36 GB memory, running macOS 15.1 (Sequoia). Any feedback with use of current native Dropbox app? Happy with use and performance? Thank you.51Views0likes0CommentsDropbox disappearing from Mac Finder side panel

When uploading a ProRes MOV with graphics to Dropbox Replay, we see a weird transparency grid during graphic transitions when full-screen graphics appear in the video - during playback. Has anyone come across this issue before?836Views0likes9Comments
