Hi, I have a free dropbox account and have used it for years to store a few basic excel spreadsheets that I use daily. I have a paid Microsoft 365 account that I use on my android phone and lenovo laptop. For some reason the last few days, I am unable to open my dropbox excel spreadsheets on my phone. When I try to open the spreadsheet I get a log in page saying "Log in or sign up to Dropbox to link with Microsoft Office Integration". I log in using my dropbox user and pw and it just sends me to my onedrive. I have tried deleting the dropbox and 365 apps on my phone and re installing and logging in. I have tried to open the dropbox files by going into excel first and then trying to open the dropbox spreadsheet. Just always sends me to the log in page. It all works fine on my laptop, and after saving, my dropbox android app shows the newly updated spreadsheet. Dont know what has happened. Please help.7KViews2likes27CommentsMy Word files are not getting saved to Dropbox on Android
Greetings to the Community, I am writing to bring to your attention an issue I have been experiencing with the Microsoft Word app on my Android tablet in conjunction with Dropbox. Previously, I was able to seamlessly save my Word documents to my Dropbox account by selecting "Save As" and choosing the Dropbox folder. However, for the past month, this process has ceased to function. Despite diligently following the same steps as before, my saved documents are no longer appearing in the Dropbox app, Dropbox Web, or my Dropbox desktop application on my laptop. Essentially, my work is not being uploaded to Dropbox. I kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter. Your expertise in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention to this issue. Sincerely, Joseph2KViews0likes18CommentsRandom files suddenly locked by themselves when using Excel.
I have a domain environment devices with dropbox on them, we are collaborating on excel sheets using online excel. We have only the basic free plan of Dropbox So as i know the feature of locking files for editing is not available. But suddenly this error started to show however we all have editing permission. And offline side of Dropbox the locked files now have a lock sign on the excel icon's side. The online error says : "Someone else is editing this workbook. You will be able to make edits after they have closed the workbook " Have anyone faced this before? Thanks111Views0likes1CommentWhen opening my documents using Word for web, I'm getting an error.
Had no troubles with opening and working on shared documentation (ie. this template) in Word for Web last spring. This year, when my team opens the doc in Word for Web, we are all getting an error message that it is a read only document. It is not a read only document. Is anyone else having this issue or is there a workaround? Thanks!144Views0likes1Comment"Nothing in folder" error when trying to attach Dropbox files to Outlook on iPhone
I have a very similar issue on an iPhone 15 trying to attach documents from dropbox to Outlook mobile email. Everything worked fine up until about four months ago when suddenly attaching to dropbox started giving the error “Nothing in folder, Looks empty over here“. Deleting the Outlook mobile app and reinstalling it and repeating the same for Dropbox and reconnecting the two again makes no difference, resetting Dropbox on Outlook mobile app also makes no difference. I checked the Files app on the device and dropbox shows up and is active and all the folders can be seen there, but outlook Mobile appears to be incapable of reading any of them. I use Outlook mobile with dropbox files constantly, or did it up until this issue happened. This only appears to happen on iPhone, as the same application combination appears to work fine on iPad. I would greatly appreciate your assistance.🙏804Views0likes3CommentsLost my updates on an Excel file after 'Resource Deadlock' warning
I was working on a file on Excel, I thought I had saved but possibly not. The file was live in my window. Excel did not crash, but when I went back to Excel - it had disappeared and when I tried opening it I got a Resource Deadlock Warning. I wasn't connected to the internet at the time. I probably should have checked my old files then but it didn't occur to me. When I was next on the internet I opened the file and it was a file from over 3 weeks ago. I have since searched everywhere on version history/events and my hard disk temporary files for the old file but only the version from September has come up. I feel probably no way of recovering but thought worth checking what went wrong and if anyone else has had this problem. Not sure if it is a dropbox or excel issue or a combination of the two.217Views0likes2CommentsCells errors using Excel for the web. The cell looks very large when I'm typing.
When I open a spreadsheet saved in Dropbox using excel for the web, the cell I am typing in becomes very large. Small inconvenience but the real problem is when I use an existing spreadsheet the formula bar on every cell shows incorrect information and then changes what is in the cell, some times resizing my rows or columns as well. I've created new spreadsheets from scratch to replace the once with the error but it doesn't fix my issue. It makes spreadsheets very hard to use properly.372Views0likes8Comments🚀 Join us for an exclusive Dropbox & Microsoft integrations webinar! 🚀
