I love Paper application, because is lite easy to use and verry fast to search in it .... but starting yesterday, i found all my papers moved inside dropbox in a folder called "Migrated Papers Docs" and now I saw that I am not able to edit it any more and the search is working only for title not for the content or at least is not so sharp like was 2 days ago. Do you have any ideea?46Views0likes1CommentCan’t edit Dropbox files in Excel anymore. Get an error about the file not being able to open.
I’ve always been able to open an Excel file in Dropbox to edit it. It was very simple…click the file, click Open In, choose Excel, make my edits, click “return to Dropbox”, refresh, and the file now had my edits. Now, however, when I click on Open In, choose Excel, I get a message that says “sorry, something went wrong and the file can’t be opened”. Super frustrating. I’ve signed out and back in, unlinked and relinked Excel Online on the actual Dropbox website, not the app. Have searched Dropbox help. I have a Microsoft 365 account, so I’ve also tried logging in and out of it. I’ve gone through setting on both applications, but no matter what I do, I no longer am able to edit this file, which means I have to upload and replace the file whenever I need to make changes. The file is shared, but I need to share it. Please help.Solved88Views0likes2CommentsLost my updates on an Excel file after 'Resource Deadlock' warning
I was working on a file on Excel, I thought I had saved but possibly not. The file was live in my window. Excel did not crash, but when I went back to Excel - it had disappeared and when I tried opening it I got a Resource Deadlock Warning. I wasn't connected to the internet at the time. I probably should have checked my old files then but it didn't occur to me. When I was next on the internet I opened the file and it was a file from over 3 weeks ago. I have since searched everywhere on version history/events and my hard disk temporary files for the old file but only the version from September has come up. I feel probably no way of recovering but thought worth checking what went wrong and if anyone else has had this problem. Not sure if it is a dropbox or excel issue or a combination of the two.229Views0likes2CommentsMy Excel formulas don't show properly on Dropbox.

Forgive me if this is a silly question: Many of my clients send me a google doc to edit/view dynamically, alongside them. Is there any way to have Google docs functionalit (have multiple people be able to edit and see changes in real time), but have that doc located/stored in a Dropbox folder on my desktop? I want to stop having to open my google drive folder and just have all my MS and Google docs loacted in my DB folder, but also keep the functionality of google docs.480Views0likes2CommentsI'm not able to edit a transcript on Dropbox Replay.

This page gives instructions on how to do it - so I'm assuming this is now a live feature? - but it isn't working for me? https://help.dropbox.com/view-edit/dropbox-replay-video-transcription Was wondering if anyone had any insight? Many thanks!355Views0likes4CommentsIssue with linked files when using Adobe Suite on Mac
Dear Dropbox Community, I have a question regarding an issue some of my customers are facing with Dropbox. While many of them are very satisfied with Dropbox’s features, a few have encountered a specific problem when using Adobe InDesign or Illustrator on Mac. The issue arises when they import and use various elements from multiple folders. Initially, this works fine, but problems occur when another team member tries to work on the same file later. The links to the files are lost, and they have to be manually recreated, which is both tedious and time-consuming. It appears that the problem stems from each user having a unique home folder name. Dropbox, unable to locate the identical home folder name, breaks the links. The Dropbox support team suggested two possible solutions: 1. Ensure each computer has a home folder with the same name. 2. Place the Dropbox folder at a higher level than the home folder (such as Macintosh HD or the top level of the user folder). However, I have tried this, and the Dropbox app refuses to create a folder at that level. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, what solutions have you found effective? Thank you in advance for your valuable help.1KViews0likes4CommentsCan't open documents in native MS Word or Excel apps both on computer and iPad
I used to be able to open Word or Excel documents in Dropbox by clicking the three dots by the filename and choosing "Open in" and selecting "MS Word" or "Excel." Now, on my desktop computer, I can choose only the web-based Word or Excel, and on my iPad, if I choose "Open in" and click Microsoft Word, nothing happens. I have Word and Excel installed on both these devices, and I have a Microsoft 365 subscription. Does anyone know why I am unable to edit my documents any more? Thanks for any help.Solved2.7KViews0likes6Comments
