I'm not able to share a link with 'can edit' permissions
Why doesn't the following from dropbox help actually work? View is only option...there is no way to select can edit. Why put out false information in help???

That's ridiculous to remove features when you "upgrade" to a family plan. Time to start looking for a different solution that values users.

Hannah,
I have Basic. My sister has Basic. I can Share a folder with her, but I cannot set the permissions to Can Edit. Why not? Per the the Help shown in the query above, I should be able to. Why does the Help say I can do it but I cannot? Is it false advertising?

Hey kurtbaud, thanks for the nudge here.
Can you give us some more info as to why you cannot share the folder with 'can edit' permissions?
Are you getting some kind of error message, or are you perhaps not seeing an option to?
If you can send us a screenshot to give us a visual of the issue, that would also be much appreciated.

Hi kurtbaud
On that screen you have created a shared link - that is designed as read only link (i.e. its one way).
To share it as a folder you need to follow a different process. https://help.dropbox.com/share/share-with-others - dont use a link!
