Why doesn't the following from dropbox help actually work? View is only option...there is no way to select can edit. Why put out false information in help???
Create and share a Dropbox link with edit access
If you’re on a Dropbox Basic, Professional, or Plus account, you can give other Dropbox users edit access to your Dropbox files or folders via link. If you share with someone without a Dropbox account, they’ll only be able to preview the file or folder.

Hey @Chad B.2, thanks for reaching out and sorry to see you're having trouble.
Firstly, can you let me know if you're trying to share a link to a folder or to a file?
If it's to a folder, are you the owner or a 'can edit' member of the folder?
And are you seeing this behavior with all your folders/files, or just specific ones?
Keep me posted and we'll go from there.

Trying to share a folder inside a folder that is shared with someone else. I am the owner and can edit. I have experienced this issue before in another situation.
Hi @Chad B.2, happy Monday!
Can you check your plan page right here, and let me know the type of plan you're currently using?

Dropbox Family
Hi @Chad B.2!
Thanks for the update. As you mentioned above, the feature you want to use is available on Dropbox Basic, Professional, or Plus accounts, while you're using a Family plan.
That could be the reason you're having trouble sharing a link with editing rights.

That's ridiculous to remove features when you "upgrade" to a family plan. Time to start looking for a different solution that values users.
Hannah,
I have Basic. My sister has Basic. I can Share a folder with her, but I cannot set the permissions to Can Edit. Why not? Per the the Help shown in the query above, I should be able to. Why does the Help say I can do it but I cannot? Is it false advertising?
Hey @kurtbaud, thanks for the nudge here.
Can you give us some more info as to why you cannot share the folder with 'can edit' permissions?
Are you getting some kind of error message, or are you perhaps not seeing an option to?
If you can send us a screenshot to give us a visual of the issue, that would also be much appreciated.
