Wildcard search in Dropbox Business Team plans

Wildcard search in Dropbox Business Team plans

My Dropbox Business Team account stores many business-related images (photographs and videos). I am not entirely sure of what or where they are. I want to review what I have. As I have about one million files, manual review is not workable.

One solution is for an advanced search by file type without knowing the name of the file.

Another solution is for an advanced search using wildcards, so that I can search by file extension without knowing the name of the file, e.g. .jpeg, .mp4, .png

These solutions (and others) are available on Google Drive, which allows searching by:
  1. File title
  2. File contents
  3. File type
  4. Other metadata, that includes:
    1. Description field
    2. Shared labels
    3. File location
    4. Owner
    5. Creator
    6. Last modified date
  5. Items or words featured in pictures, PDF files or other files stored on your Drive

As at the date of this post, I am told (Support Ticket #18384427: TEAMS: Image files) that "…the only way currently to search for a specific file type would be through your Dropbox folder in the [macOS] Finder." This is impossible with the volume of my stored data.

You can search by just the file extension and see files of that type returned. Try .jpeg in the search bar and see if you get what you are looking for

Thanks, but, I tried your solution before posting, and as I said in my post "As I have about one million files, manual review is not workable."

Please implement simple boolean operators at a minimum, Dropbox. Also on a paid account and also have a HUGE amount of files and not being able to search by using quotes (for a phrase), or booleans (AND, OR, +, -) makes your search completely useless.
