I nearly go blind every time I open dropbox, how can you guys have been around so long yet you still don't have a simple toggle to change the CSS style to a darker color to not blind your users?
We are closing this idea so that we can provide the Community with updates on Dark Mode by individual product. We hope this provides a better user experience as this thread has grown quite long. Thanks for all of your votes, comments and enthusiasm!
You can find more information at the end of this thread, or by clicking this link.
I am surprised that this doesn't have more votes. I recently bought a larger widescreen monitor; it's like staring into the sun! I am now using google chrome dark mode addons but none of them look that good.
Yes, I've signed into this in order to add to the people requesting dark mode. I use Dropbox for less than 100GB, so I appreciate the service over competitors, but I definitely expected dark mode by now. Please add dark mode to the Android app.
EDIT: You can enable dark mode on multiple apps on Android 10 by enabling "Override force-dark" in "Developer options" found under the "Hardware Accelerated Rendering" header on a Pixel 3. Other Android phones may have slightly different layouts for Developer options, but should work if they are running Android 10 or higher.
"Developer options" is a hidden set of options on Android phones. You can enable "Developer options" by finding the option labeled "Build number" and tapping it 7 times. This enables the options. The "Developer options" setting is found in the "About phone" settings for a Pixel 3. "About phone" is located under "System" for some Android phones
Tap "Build number" 7 times to enable "Developer options"Enable "Override force-dark" found in "Developer options". Note: This will affect other apps as well, such as OneDrive.Dropbox should now have dark mode enable on Android phones
Do some users have dark mode? Just watched a video (link below) and at the 6:30 mark he switches a paper doc into dark mode? I don't seem to have that option. Sup wit dat?
