Listen to and Respond to Ideas

I've watched countless posts with requests in this community with almost complete radio silence from Dropbox.  A top issue with almost 300 votes and 816 comments (higher than any other topic) has gone completely ignored.  You can see the frustration in the various comments.  Yet no one at dropbox appears to care enough to respond.

    Absolutely

I personally don't need a smaller plan but I agree that there should be interactions from the Dropbox members

Without interactions from staff there really is no point to this community.  I want a place where I can ask questions, get help, etc. It's nice getting this from other users but there are some things that only the staff can help out with

Hi lesterw - thanks for getting in touch with us on this!

We want to assure you first off that we are reading and listening to all feedback and feature requests here.

Any ideas shared here will follow the steps outlined in this post, and we commit to sharing our top-voted ideas with the relevant product teams for their consideration.

On the idea you link here, this is not something the team are actively working on at the moment and the status has been updated to 'Not for right now' to ensure we are being transparent with you on that.

If anything changes we will be sure to update you - once we have new information, you will too.

Hope that helps and let us know if you have any further questions on the idea process!

    Emma

    Hi Emma,

I do hope that your Dev Team is not only focussed on most voted ideas. Your roadmap should also include refinements for UI. Not only the load of new products.
From my standpoint I would assume that almost nobody leaves ideas in this section; so the ones that do may actually represent a larger audience. These few people are committed to make Dropbox better. It seems that Dropbox only comes into action if there are at least 100 or 500 or 1000 votes. This does no service to your platform!

E.g. do to the small viewport I use Dropbox only as backup storage and archive. Your 'responsiveness' has led me to use iCloud fully. At least I can read the filenames there ....

I hope you will reconsider your policy.

    Hi Sytze W.

Sure and apologies if my response was unclear here, I do want to assure you that while our most-voted ideas are considered for inclusion in the product roadmap, the Dropbox team is continually working to refine, improve and enhance the product and platform, including the UI and overall user experience.

Emma, Dropbox will be judged by its actions, not its words. Dropbox is fortunate to have such helpful feedback from users. Companies pay thousands £'s for market research, but you get it for free..... so do something positive with it. I've watched Dropbox pay lip service to its customers for years. It's the same now with Hellosign. You are a frustrating business to have on board. What are you doing all day if you're not trying to meet the needs of your customers? 🤔

I agree with BugBitten, so frustrating that for years there have been requests for smaller plans. I have the business storage through Google and OneDrive which is more storage than I will ever use. I have been using dropbox for years and want to support you guys and have so many links to you over the years. I am about to make the switch and cut the ties. Once that happens there is most likely no going back. There is no way I am paying for the 2TB plan. I also pay for iCloud right now and could easily use that since I have everything Apple.

Hopefully someone can curate all the posts that dilute these votes because there are so many threads asking for a smaller cheaper storage plan.

I love Dropbox, but I'd have to agree. As I review the dates on a number of similar requests, I'm sometimes reading dates back from 2014. Even if it's been just a few years . . . why? Is Dropbox happy with where it is now?

The problem with that is, it can't last. The development is excellent so far, but if it does not continue to evolve, it will be left behind. Many users are expressing they have left, or will be leaving.

I just got Dropbox and I love it. But I came to this community area with some requests, only to find many that matched mine already. Yes, you read and review everything, as you always have. But as BugBitten stated, the product will be judged on actions, not promises that are weakening as years pass.

As for the specifics of my requests, I'll post elsewhere.

Please, let Dropbox continue to be awesome. I don't think you really have a lot of choice at this point. I hope the best for your team!

A company asking for feedback and then not visibly acting on substantive suggestions does not help a brand and engagement by users with products. This seems to be happening here.
