Dark Mode for Dropbox on Web

Hello Everybody!

I have created this thread to provide updates on Dark Mode for Dropbox on Web. We are closing off the longer thread for general Dark Mode requests so that we can provide our community with updates for specific products, and so that requests don't get lost.

At the time of posting, our team is looking into Dark Mode for Web, but cannot provide a time frame for implementation. You can vote on this post and comment here to show your support. I will update the status of this idea when we know more!

Uh, not sure what happened, but my dropbox is now in a dark mode, and I can't turn it off - thought I had an extension enabled, and that's not working - is it tied to windows settings? otherwise, neat, but please make it an option to turn it off.

@AgentRockstar Hi there! I'm on the Dropbox team and we hear this request loud-and-clear.

While this first release leverages the OS setting, we're going to release an update quite soon that allows you to easily set the theme to light/dark for Dropbox or to have it continue to map to your OS theme.

Hmmm, my Dropbox is NOT in Darkmode and my Mac is in Darkmode always. I must be missing an update?

@MajorHavoc I expect that you should have access to that before too long, based on the rollout of the Web redesign that was announced in October.

@KENYON For most users, they should see the manual toggle between dark-mode and light-mode available via their profile menu (clicking on your avatar) within a couple of weeks.

There are a few cases for certain kinds of accounts that will be slower to migrate than that, but they're the exception and not the rule.
