Sign your first document with Dropbox Sign
So, maybe by now you've mastered the art of uploading files and sharing photos with friends and family on Dropbox (if not, check this out). Now, let's talk about a game-changer feature – drumroll, please – eSignatures!
Paperwork can be a real pain, and who even owns a working printer these days? Certainly not us. So, why not make life easier with Dropbox Sign? We’ll take a look at:
- Adding eSignatures to Word Docs, PDFs, and more
- The benefits of eSignatures
- Electronic vs. handwritten signatures – what's the deal?
Add eSignatures to Word Docs, PDFs, and more
Dropbox integrates like peanut butter and jelly with Dropbox Sign. When you're ready to add your signature to a PDF or Word doc, like your insurance policy, or a new phone contract, just select the file and click Dropbox Sign. Voila! Your document opens, ready to be signed. And don't worry about security – Dropbox Sign is like Fort Knox for your files. And if you want to know more about security at Dropbox, you can check that out here.
When you’ve chosen your document, you simply click Sign – now you’re ready to sign using your desktop, tablet or smartphone. You can type your signature, or draw it out yourself.
On your phone or tablet, just whip out your Dropbox mobile app. Find that PDF, tap to open the preview, hit the edit icon, and then tap "Add Text or Signature." Easy peasy!
Benefits galore – why should you care?
- One stop signature shop: Manage all your folders, files, and signed copies in one cozy place – your Dropbox account.
- Take full control: Decide who gets a backstage pass to your files, organize docs, and keep your team singing from the same hymn sheet.
- Save time and money: Forget the hassle of printing, signing, and scanning. Dropbox Sign is your time-saving superhero, and saving trees is a bonus!
Electronic vs. handwritten signatures – what's the deal?
Legally speaking, they're BFFs. The ESIGN Act made it official in 2000 – electronic signatures are as binding as the old-school pen-and-paper deal. It's faster, greener, and definitely friendlier to your wallet.
