Embedding folders in WordPress.org sites
I have a client that I am building a website for. He's a lawyer and has a folder for each of his clients.
He would like to have a place on his site for them to access their folder contents, (as i...

As a security precaution, the Dropbox web site does not allow itself to be iframe'd. Dropbox does offer an API you can use to integrate custom Dropbox functionality into your app. E.g., the API offers the ability to programmatically, list, upload, and download files, among other operations.
I can't speak to third party solutions, but for reference, you can find everything you need to get started with the Dropbox API, including documentation, tutorials, and SDKs here:

One of the things I LOVE about Dropbox is that it's drop dead simple. Anyone can use it.
Not so with your Dropbox API. I wouldn't know where to start except going back to school and learning how to code. Seriously though, https://www.dropbox.com/developers might be a fabulous resource but it's all greek to me (and I'm sure a lot of others).
I volunteer on the training team for WordPress.org so I know my way around WP. Looking at the plugins https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/dropbox/ you'll see that most all of them have to do with enabling backup files to be sent to Dropbox and not the feature I'm looking for. It seems to me that enabling someone to do this via a simple plugin would serve the needs of a lot of people. Other companies create WordPress plugins that securely enable their API, perhaps you should too.
As for 3rd party apps. It would be great if you maintained a list of trusted 3rd party apps (paid or free) that you refer people to. Searching Google hasn't come up with anything for me so far.

I agree with the above. I kmow my way about a wordpress site, but am not a coder. Your information on how to embed files in the developer instructions is gobbledygook to me! A trusted 3rd party app seems to be missing - where I would expect it to be.

has this been enabled yet? I would really love to have a read only dropbox folder displayed in my wordpress site. Benefits are numerous -- not having to build a list of files that point to dropbox files, not bogging down my wordpress database with files that I dont want to store there. Easy to use.... I am sure there are more benefits. Did anyone come up with a plugin to do this yet?
