    Thanks for using Dropbox! Here are the user visible changes in v53:
     
     
    • Dropbox is now 64-bits (x86_64) on macOS
    • Tray notifications will show user initials while the avatar image is loading
    • Fixed a rare hang during Dropbox's start up with Smart Sync enabled
    • Fixed a bug around the handling of "untitled folder" and "New folder"
    • Fixed a bug on Linux where the "Start Dropbox on system startup" setting was not persisted
    • Fixed a bug preventing connections to WPAD proxies
    • Fixed an issue with discrete GPU usage on certain versions of MacBook Pro

      If you could fix the XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP error (it is now "Unity:Unity7:ubuntu" which breaks the Dropbx UI completely)

      Starting with the env var dropbox client expects helps: XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=Unity:Unity7 dropbox start -i
      but is cumbersome due to the autostart handling.

        Thanks for the report! We have a fix internally and it should go out in v56, which will go out to beta in mid-August.
