why my desktop folder is attached to my dropbox folder, but I don't see it

why my desktop folder is attached to my dropbox folder, but I don't see it

I have a very weird problem.

All of my desktop folders are in my dropbox folder(according to the target path), but when I am in my dropbox folder I don't see any desktop folder.
Any file in my desktop folder is: C:\Users\User\Lonely Gamers Dropbox\aviv ariel\My PC (DESKTOP--------)\Desktop\.....
But when I am in the aviv ariel folder I don't see "My PC (DESKTOP--------)" folder, I see the "get started with drop box" files.

I wanna remove the "Lonely Gamers Dropbox" from my pc but keep the desktop folder and everything in there on my pc.
I tried setting my desktop folder to the default location but i got an error: Can't redirect into reparse point, please choose different target path.

Hey @Aviv3, let's see what we can find out about this.

Do you remember disabling the backup feature on this computer?

If not, and the Dropbox icon in your system tray shows that the app is "up to date", can you follow the steps in the article above to disable it, and choose to keep your content on your PC, to see if that helps?

Let me know how that goes and we'll go from there.

I tried to do everything you said, but when I clicked on "manage backups" I moved to a screen that says "want to keep your PC backed up?".
This is so weird because my dropbox does'nt backup a thing on my pc but still the target path to my desktop folder is through the dropbox folder.
And another weird thing is that, if I go to: C to Users to user to desktop, then every file is ok, and in this target path.

Would you mind sending us a screenshot of that message, @Aviv3?

As for what you said about the path, do you mean that your files are actually in their right place?

Had you perhaps already disabled backup, then?

In the dropbox site I see that dropbox does not backup any file.

Hi @Aviv3, are you part of a Dropbox Business team by any chance?

Have you tried moving the Dropbox folder manually via the Dropbox desktop application preferences, if the backup is disabled?
