I'm having this same issue of thumbnails not showing up. I recently installed Dropbox on a new computer and am having this issue. Please message me directly if you can help as you did others, moderators!

Hey ramblingsu!
Can you just confirm for me, does this only occur when you make a file available locally on your computer by double clicking the file to open it?
If you make one of these files online only through the right click menu, and afterwards make it local through the same right click menu, do you see the thumbnail appear then?

No one is going to address it with dropbox, we have thousands of images saved as well and now looking into switching services, they could care less about paying members having functionality, its unreal.

It happens whether I change to to Local or Online Only.
- Daphne4 years agoDropbox StaffI see, thanks for confirming ramblingsu.
Which version of the app do you have installed at the moment?
Also, what OS version is your device running? - ramblingsu4 years agoHelpful | Level 5
119.4.1772
Windows 10
- Daphne4 years agoDropbox StaffThanks for that info ramblingsu!
Does the current sync status show it's "up to date", or "syncing"?
Also, could you just send along a screenshot of the icons that you're seeing for your files at the moment? - ramblingsu4 years agoHelpful | Level 5
Up to date.
- Daphne4 years agoDropbox StaffAwesome, thanks for that ramblingsu!
I've just sent you an email, so please check your inbox when you have the time and we can go from there. Cheers! - Ellen563 years agoHelpful | Level 6
That is exactly what I've been dealing with on both my Surface Pro since I added my Dropbox account, and on my Windows 10 laptop since I had a new hard drive added and had to reinstall Dropbox. Never had the problem before. Works fine on other laptop, but ready to switch services because I work with photos for marketing daily and it is a PAIN to switch between looking at the images online @dropbox.com, getting the image name, and then going into my account to pull the named photo over. Very frustrated. Talked with someone in a Dropbox chat a couple weeks ago and he indicated Dropbox is aware of the problem with Windows, but no idea when the solution. Has anyone had this situation resolved??
