Re: Dropbox Capture screen recording skips and buffers upon playback

Hello Folks,

i got a new PC after 12 years with an Nvidia GTX 4600 Graphics Card. I just name it because i dont know it its needed. I also switched from Windows 10 to 11.

Since i did this i have problems recording with Dropbox Capture. Im trying different settings for hours and at least i remember one of our clients used some other service (loom) and tryed this to test it out.

It seems with this i dont have any problems. But i dont wanna use it. I want use Dropbox, we pay for the storage anyways.

If i record something (Chrome and less in Firefox) sometimes my audio recording is like stuttering, swallow some seconds or parts of the word and also with video. Sometimes its only half a word, sometimes its a few seconds. It feels like it happens more if the browser is using Hardware Acceleration. Also the record in the browser is showing some reloading button in the missing parts (and my internet ist fast enough).

But i test all settings and also did memorys tests and at least didnt have the problems with the competition tool.

Is that a known problem? Is there something i can test?

Greetings
Henry

Hi there, HG19911, welcome to our Community!

You mentioned that this happens mainly in Chrome, and less in Firefox.

Have you made sure you're using the updated version on both browsers? Have you tried clearing the browser's cache, by any chance?

I know this sounds trivial, but it can make a great difference. As for the Hardware Acceleration, that's interesting. Do you use it in both Chrome & Firefox?

Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!
