We are aware of the issue with the badge emails resending to everyone, we apologise for the inconvenience - learn more here.
Auto tagging files in a given folder, for both new and existing files works well, but only in that one folder. And files in sub folders are not tagged automatically, and needs a manual process to add the tag automation to any subfolders.
In addition, if we duplicate a folder, the automation settings are not retained, so need setting up again from scratch.
We would love to be able to have these ideas incorporated
- Dropbox add functionality to “apply to existing subfolders” and “apply to newly created subfolders” (or even BOTH)
- Dropbox allow copied folders to retain automation from template structure, i.e. if we set automation rules up on a folder, and it's subfolders, if we duplicate that folder, the automation rules be retained on the new duplicated folders. Basically saves us having to add automation to every single sub folder for a given structure.
- Dropbox adapt the functionality to actually ADD the metatag TO the file itself rather than ONLY within the dropbox database.

Thank you so much for the idea here! We add this to our queue of items and I will alert you when we get to it. Thank you!

Great work. The first request seem to work well on initial testing, i.e. recursive and existing recursive file tagging. Was there any movement on automation rules following a folder when duplicated, or tagging files at a file level in addition to a Dropbox level so that the tags are visible in Mac / Windows OS?

Hi nez_pottage! What you’re asking in the first paragraph isn’t possible at the moment, I’m afraid.
However, you can post separate ideas for these suggestions, by following these tips.
