It doesn't have to be fancy so I'm not gonna create a UI in AEM now. Something like https://www.editpad.org/ would totally work in Dropbox-Design-Language.
But downloading TXT-Files, opening them, changing stuff, saving, closing, and than uploading them back to Dropbox totally sucks.
Google Drive opens them in their standard Google Docs Editor. Unfortunately they also convert it at that moment to a second file. And you get the chance to open them in linked apps that you can install in Google.

Thanks for your reply and additional information josch87 - much appreciated.
We are always looking for user input regarding our website so I will make sure your comments are passed along to our dev team - thank you for this feedback.
In addition, Dropbox Paper is a collaborative workspace that helps your team grow ideas together. Paper is freely available to all Dropbox users, and you can start using it by heading to https://paper.dropbox.com.
I know it's not exactly you're looking for, yet, it has many capabilities and features that might help achieve what you like eventually (on any Paper doc, click on the keyboard icon to see more info about the formatting options etc.)
If there's anything I can do to help in the meantime, please let me know.
