Ben,
Like others on this thread, I am disappointed to see features like Collections go. It seems that Dropbox invests time and enegery into many enhancements and to get users to use them in place of other functionality suche as "Starred". I actually didn't have a need for Collections, until Starred disappeared. Then when I actually needed to find one of my Starred documents which I starred so that I could easily find them (isn't that the purpose???) I couldn't find them.
I do think that Collections would have been an awesome way of categorizing documents in a way that makes sense without using links to documents in folders, though I never had a chance to really use it until it's about to disappear.
My recent engagements with technology vendors, especially with Dropbox lately, have been far from satisfactory. I suppose that's the future and I welcome further discussion.
