More about Dropbox Family
You might have seen us talking about Dropbox Family earlier this year, and there are new features that we’re excited about.
We love the possibilities of how people can use Dropbox. Every family is different, and that means there are a lot of different advantages for different people. For example, students can benefit from Dropbox Family while away at college. From the shared storage space and Dropbox Paper for assignments, to shared family favorite recipes. Also, with Vault and Passwords, parents have the peace of mind that no matter how sleep deprived or distracted their kid is, they can keep their files and passwords safe.
- Family Room folder is a place where your family can share photos, recipes, and even assignments that need a more experienced eye before hand up.
- Dropbox Vault gives you an additional layer of security for your most sensitive files, with a PIN for secure access. Keep the whole family’s most important files safe but also accessible when you need them, no matter where the family is.
- Dropbox Passwords allows you to save your account usernames and passwords, suggest new passwords, sync logins across your devices, and autofill them when you sign into websites and mobile apps - so don’t worry about a password on a post it in the dorm or computer labs.
- Remote wipe helps protect your data if a device is lost or stolen. It means that no matter what happens, you can delete the entire Dropbox folder from a device the next time it connects to the internet. Here’s hoping you don’t need it, but just in case!
- Full-text search helps you find files using keywords and file types, rather than only file names. You can search for files and folders in your own Dropbox account as well as content that has been shared with you by other family members, so forget about searching for misnamed files from your student, or recipes with fancy names, you’ll find what you need in no time.
There are tons of other features available as part of Family plan like file recovery, camera uploads and of course, the ever useful Dropbox Paper to keep the student in your family on track. And you know exactly where your family’s important files are when you need them.
How are you using Family plan?
