I logged into my account and it created a new one, so I can't access my existing account
My workplace has a Dropbox that we have used for years, I am the person who has had access to it and managed it the past year and a half. I last logged in on March 28th of this year. Today, I went to...

Thanks for your response! I have double checked the email to make sure there are no typos, and it is the only email linked to the account so it is the only one used for login purposes. And yes, the folder I brought up was shared via link - I emailed someone the link, I can go back into my email and click the link and it still takes me to the folder, I can just no longer do anything other than view the folder.

Hey user46, sorry to jump in here.
Was your account previously a member of a Dropbox Business team perhaps?
Could it be that the admin of that team removed you from it, thus also deleting your account?
Because only if the previous account was deleted, would you be able to create a new account under the same email address.

It was not part of a Dropbox Business team - it was the only email linked to the account.
The new account is what's confusing me, because there shouldn't be a way the account was deleted unless I deleted it (which I did not), and the files still being viewable through previously shared links makes me think the account still exists. But then I don't know why it didn't recognize my email as having an account.

Are you positive that the folder you shared through a link, was created by you, in your account?

Yes, I did it just over 2 weeks ago and remember it clearly. The reason I have the link still is because I went through the "sent" box in my email and found the email where I sent it to people.
